This is a question My Biggest Disappointment

Often the things we look forward to the most turn out to be a huge let down. As Freddy Woo puts it, "High heels in bed? No fun at all. Porn has a lot to answer for."

Well, Freddy, you are supposed to get someone else to wear them.

What's disappointed you lot?

Birthdays
After all the hype before i turned 18, it turned out to be a pretty sh*t day. As i was the 1st one of my friends to turn 18, and we all still looked about 12, none of them would come out with me cos they got turned away due to lack of ID. So i ended up spending my 18th birthday at home alone. with a bottle of WKD Blue.

Anyhow, with my 21st birthday approaching, i began to remind everyone how sh*t my 18th had been, and how theres was all so much better as there were more people willing to go out drinking with them. So it was agreed. We would celebrate my 21st.

My mum wanted to take me for a meal 1st, as she had done with my elder sister for her 21st. This would have been absolutly lovely, apart from my neice was up (she was about 2 at the time) And my family dont see her much with her being in Leeds and us not being. So the entire meal was centred around my neice being cute. Noone sang me happy birthday. The only person who mentioned it was the waitress as she said to me (while everyone else was fussing over neice) "who's birthday is it as we normally give them a cocktail and we like to bring it out as a surprise"

Ahwell, meal was a let down, but its ok, cos there are 30 mates waiting to meet me in Yates! (my sisters also tag along, not wanting to go home yet)

Arrive at Yates...noone. Not a single person i have ever met before.

My sisters suggest we try another few of my haunts. So we go round 4 different pubs. Eventually finding my mate Simon who it seems arrived late after we had left Yates and has been going round my haunts in the opposite direction.

Ok, so its just me, my 2 sisters and my mate Simon. This could still be good.

Half an hour after meeting Simon, he gets a phone call. He is unfortunatly on call and has to go. He apologises and leaves.

My little sister suggests we go to the night club. Elder sister is tired and gets a taxi home.

We turn up at the night club and 1st person my little sister sees is a lad she works with she's fancied for ages. She takes him away to dance and eat his face off.

So its 11pm. Its my 21st birthday. And im sat, on my own, in a nightclub, drinking a bottle of WKD Blue.

I dont like birthdays. (apologies for length but i was so deflated and it still really gets me...my 25th is next year. I think im just gonna get a bottle of WKD Blue in and watch Eastenders)

^^
That's pretty shit! I recommmend a switch from Blue WKD to Cuba Libres!

My 21st consisted of me getting hideously drunk, having a screaming match in front of all my family and friends, telling my mum to fuck off when she tried to break it up,
winding my brother up to the point he was ready to belt me, then slipping on someone's puke in the pub and knocking myself out on the corner of a table; saving my bro the job.

They're usually pretty good.
Having a do for my 28th next week at my house. It's going to be rammed with all the attractive female friends I have aquired over the last three years (which is great), andt they're all bringing their blokes (which isn't).

I've never cared about my own birthdays
I have suffered the curse of being born in the wake of Christmas, so everyone's very poor when my birthday rolls around. I've known this since I was about 8, so I never expect much.

My best birthday was my 20th, and it was pretty much the same as any other Friday night out with friends. That was good enough for me.

I hate Birthdays
Yeah that's pretty rubbish I think Birthday's can be such a let down.

Although spare a thought for a freind of mine who got dumped at his 18th Birthday Party in front of about 15 of his closest freinds and ended up running out the pub crying.

Ouch! :(

Imagine having your birthday right in the exam period
16th - Revising for Biology exam, flu, dosed up to the eyeballs on Night Nurse

18th Revising for Geography, Economics and Biology A levels, ill again, lost my voice, sore throat, went to pub managed one pint and a shot before giving in to the sickness. In hind sight should have drunk through it.

21st - Revising for exams, had an exam on my birthday, went to union after exam, had 1 pint then went home to revise for next days exam. Got a great present from friends though, ASDA smart price bread, rice and pasta. I was so skint these were considered luxury items as i had something to eat for a change...

And each birthday since has been a drunken affair, but always disappointed the key birthdays were such write-offs

@ Poly
I spent my 21st birthday in hospital with concussion and a suspected fractured skull after my "mates" gave me the dentist's chair and left me to waddle off and pass out face-first into a door frame.

Best bday ever.

Gutted
That sounds shite.

Dump your friends
Dump your family.

Come up to Macclesfield for your next birthday, we have some of the shittiest pubs in the world but you can have an absolutely brilliant time!

I still feel bad for my housemate though. His birthday? 25/12/87.

Go paintballing!
Seriously, I just did that for my 21st. It's ace. Most going out and having drinks type birthdays turn out shite anyway.
