Onemunki says: We live in a world of genuine tragedy, starvation and terror. So, after hearing stories of cruise line passengers complaining at the air conditioning breaking down, what stories of sheer single-minded self-pity get your goat?

People who moan about their commute every day on overcrowded public transport. Well at least they dont have to climb on to the roof to find a space....thats proper overcrowding. And also they are usally just from the south east anyway and so are classed as tossers by the rest of the country as well. Not a rant honest

First world problems are petty problems that those in the developing world would baulk at.
As for your jibe about the South-East, that's fine, the rest of the country is the developing world - so I guess you have good reason to hate us.

Updated: Those people who moan about having to commute on overcrowded public transport every day? At least they don't have to climb onto the roof to find a space...that's real overcrowding. They are also just from the south east, usually, and as such are classed as literate by the rest of the country. This is not a rant, honest

Most of the complaints about commuting are concerned with the irritating behaviour of fellow commuters. The fact that some bastards just don't understand the unwritten social rules, or aren't bothered about adhering to them, is universal surely?
It's worse on this website because most of us are British, and therefore completely averse to confronting someone who is being inconsiderate. No-one does tight-lipped supressed rage like we do.
I was really annoyed with a woman on the train the other day. I was in an aisle seat and she was just across from me. She stretched out her legs into the aisle, which meant that every person who walked past had to adjust their angle to avoid being tripped up. This resulted in me being whacked by numerous bags and receiving several facefuls of arse-cheek.
Why the hell didn't I say anything? She probably didn't even realise, naively thinking that it was a nice perk of an aisle seat that you could have a bit more leg-room and wondering why no-one else was following suit.
Also, why do people keep walking up and down the train?

Or do you just think the companies running it deserve as much money as they can get regardless of customer satisfaction?
If transport were a public service and nobody were making a profit from it I would be more inclined to agree with you, but it isn't and people are, so I ink they should fucking well improve it.
