This is a question Things we do to fit in

"When I was fifteen," writes No3L, "I curled up in a Budgens trolley while someone pushed it through the supermarket doors to nick vodka and Benny Hedgehogs, just to hang out with my brother and his mates."

What have you done to fit in?

Does anyone remember
a haircut from the 90s called The Step?

*shudder*

I'll see your step
and raise you an Undercut

Unless Christiano Ronaldo logs in
to tell us about how he tried to re-popularise The Rat Tail, you win ;)
(, Thu 15 Jan 2009, 13:53, closed)
Well
I did used to have one of those too, though not at the same time of course. That would just look ridiculous…
(, Thu 15 Jan 2009, 14:27, closed)
oh my
that's quite a pedigree you have in embarrassing haircuts
(, Thu 15 Jan 2009, 15:33, closed)
Ah yes, the undercut
I had one of those.

And I'm a girl.

or it didn't happen ;)

hahaha
being a metal boy I had very long hair, then decided to go for an undercut, and then to an all-over zero in the space of 6 months.

I looked like a right cunt with all three
(, Thu 15 Jan 2009, 13:57, closed)
I'm sure it looked proper metal
hanging upside down from the wooden beams in the Kambar
(, Thu 15 Jan 2009, 15:33, closed)
oh the Kambar
Get full of beer at the King Street run and then stagger down there, then fall out into uncle franks of the van of life!

Shame the Cambridge arms went wank, changed name about 10 times then burnt down

I have a tshirt that
looks like the "my day in the city" stuff you get on the back of the double-decker busses and describes a night out not entirely different from yours:

-drive past the bus queue
-do the king street run
-fall out of the kambar
-taxi back to the flat (your mum's)

Bought from www.cambridgetshirts.com/ run by a friend of mine

I had an undercut
long straight hair to my shoulders and shaved underneath...I mean shaved, my mate used to Bic it for me

I was considering bringing back the undercut recently. I'm sure it's due a revival.

Not only do I remember it...
... but I remember the horror of realising one day a few months later in the shower that although my hair had grown, it still had the bloody step - just six inches from my scalp!
(, Thu 15 Jan 2009, 13:53, closed)
I remember that one.
Then I had it cut shorter and had some tramlines.

Then me and me mate had our initials cut in the back, him a J me a T.

To which the barber dryly said "What's that stand for then? Tit?"
(, Thu 15 Jan 2009, 14:49, closed)
I had one too......
that was worse, it was done by my sister using an electric shaver with sideburn clippers. The worst part was that when she finished it wasn't even level/straight!!!!!! The shame of going to school the next day will live with me forever!

Bad hairstyles.
I had a really short fucking mullet at one point.

That was about the time of my graduation, wasn't it?
I think I have a picture somewhere around here.....

No, I had "curtains" at your graduation
The Step was the early 90s.
(, Fri 16 Jan 2009, 9:55, closed)
and you're not getting any money from me
I'm a penniless victim of the decline in the financial services industry :'(
(, Fri 16 Jan 2009, 10:19, closed)
The whole 'curtains' thing never really worked with curly hair, did it?
But if you look on my fbook page, you might see some pictures of you...

And anyway, you're NOT penniless - you're in IT, and everyone knows that's where all the money is.
