The Ban Hammer is lightly wielded by the mods but is is used on a regular basis - mainly in links for blatant spamming
A noob is more likely to be banned than a regular. For a regular, you're more likely to be nawty-stepped and warned before banning.
but there are some sorts of behaviour where the hammer will come crashing down without warning.
