All this talk of "discrimination" from Gingers
Has anyone ever been actually discriminated against (other than childish name-calling in the playground, which is hardly surprising considering how politically incorrect children generally are)? Actual discrimination such as being denied a job, or service or good, because they're ginger?

It would be interesting to hear.

Positive discrimination FTW.
I got my current job partially due to being a ginge. My boss is a ginge also, and so is one of his kids. In my second informal interview he said I had the job. I was overjoyed, then he sort of said 'You might've noticed my hair colour, and in the pictures, my daughter has the same hair colour as too.' It was the first time in my life I'd been rewarded for being a ginge.

Mostly positive
People tend to remember you, which is helpful.

When I was younger I noticed a pattern in interview questions that hinted at stereotyping e.g. 'Do you ever lose it in stressful situations?' 'Do you have trouble getting on with people?' right up to the outright 'So - *do* you have much of a temper?'

I didn't get any job where that kind of question came up. That may be just coincidence.

You should have
kept your cool in the interview, then.

This also happened to me!
When I applied for a job with the Red-Headed League.

I say applied, actually I was red-head-hunted.

I was discriminated against on Match.com. There's boxes you tick, for what you want and don't want. Because one of the boxes was hair colour, ginger, everyone had ticked "don't want" so I didn't get any introductions.
Well I got one but I discriminated against her because she looked downsy, so I suppose I got what i deserved.

Personally I always wanted that Boris Becker to lose in Wimbledon...
But that wasn't a ginger-related hate crime. Didn't give a toss he had weird looking ginge eyelashes. No. Hating someone because of their redhaired status is just not on.

I wanted Boris to lose because he's a fucking German.

Me and a friend went for an interview together, exact same experience, very similar characters, he got it, i didn't. He later saw her notes from the interview, first word underlined, 'ginger'. I got the last laugh though as she was Welsh.
