Agreed
While I wholeheartedly endorse maximising the Earth's resources for future generations, a bunch of lefty Tarquins using "The Environment" as an excuse to liberate a shedload of cash from my pocket is going to turn me into a rabid anti-environmentalist.
Sorry, but that's just the way it is.
[Edit:] The biggest problem no one has any balls to deal with is population control.
It's easier for the eco-cunts to prattle on about how much tax they want to take from me because I drive a car while at the same time they blindly do nothing to discourage us all from procreating at an unsustainable rate.
I've abdicated my right to procreate, therefore I expect my burden of eco-taxes to be reduced.

^^^^^^^THIS
Last time someone waffled on at me about my carbon footprint I pointed out that they had children and I didn't. They couldn't actually see my point, which serves to re-emphasis their dumbassedness.

Do you get the looks of
"my god, you've shat in my gruel" when you tell people you aren't having kids?
it's not too bad at the moment, but as time goes on I know it's going to get worse...

If I have kids.
(by some weird chain of circumstances, I don't want to)
I'll teach 'em to eat coal. Out of pure spite.

Well,
Those eco-tossers can fuck off, it's their human rights to eat coal.
I wonder if I'll be able to make 'em semi-mechanical. So they'd HAVE to run on crude oil.

I WANT babies
I just haven't found anyone I want to have them with. My standards, like my knickers, get lower and lower.

At the risk of sounding like a smug breeder
which I am a million, million miles away from being - my experiences have almost all been fucking awful so far - if and when you do have babies the 'I'll be dead so who cares about the future' stance will be gone in a trice, I promise you.

Er, right
One problem at a time.
Whilst it would be nice for someone to come up with a Grand Unifying Theory of Everything to solve all our problems, there's still a point to be made in getting people to think about consumption and energy usage on an an unsustainable scale. Different argument.
Unsustainable population control, well that just takes us back to religion. Catholic Church anyone?
