Spimf says: I've always enjoyed listening to Pink Floyd, but lately I've noticed if my iPod plays any of their tracks, I skip them. I'm starting to realise I've gone off them. What have you gone off lately?

Considering I've been playing games since the day I found my thumbs I find this rather difficult to write, but I've gone right off playing games lately. I bought a few from the latest Steam summer sale and I've got a fairly expensive Xbox library, it's just there isn't anything particularly original anywhere in there. There's loads I haven't even finished. The few shining examples of games I enjoyed were Gunpoint and Papers Please; both indie developed games and both rather quite good.
It's the big budget games that promise brand new innovations and expansive multiplayer experiences and grand sweeping storylines that I feel so let down by these days.
Assassins Creed 3, for example. I thought it was going to be awesome, an opinion based on teaser trailers and such, yet the story turned out to be shite, the gameplay very samey and super glitchy, and the dlc addons that SHOULD HAVE BEEN available to anyone who paid for a preorder package and yet WEREN'T. Games these days are full on shite.
Mind you, I'll always have time for Just Cause 2 and Prototype 2. Them's the tits

I found that the only reason I was keeping my Wii was Smash Brothers, and after I'd built a substantial trophy library and watched Sonic become even crapper than he has been in recent years I decided to let it go

Arcades should stay in a massively overpriced tellybox in laserquest

Start playing interesting games like Sid Myers Civilization or Kerbal Space Program.

Sim City 4 deluxe, Black & White 2, Fallouts 1 2 and tactics, I even got Dear Esther from a friend. Fine games all, but modern versions of them continue to suck donkey quim.
New Vegas for example, I like many suffered the inhumanity of having my 70 something hour gamesave deleted because of a glitch in game that basically told my treasured me time to go fuck itself

Been playing games for over 30 years, and was getting a little indifferent towards them.
Then Red Dead Redemption came along. Everything since is filling a gap until its sequel arrives. Although I did enjoy Dishonored a lot.

RDR single player was pretty boss, but the multiplayer makes me weep. So many cunts with huge levels blasting you from across the fucking map it seems. Meh.

I got into Borderlands a while ago on the suggestion of a friend. At about lvl 50 sniper-dude with a pearlescent sniper rifle, clocked the game and working thru the dlc pack (what a fucking gip - we'll sell you the whole game in dribs and drabs rather than one fell swoop). I went to log in one day and Wahey! my profile was corrupted. Never to be seen again.
Tanglet and gbrainy aren't action packed but they are good at keeping your brain awake during long typing/coding sessions.

Haven't even taken it out of the wrapper yet.
I agree with MM above - I think I've grown up. Because for some stupid reason I seem to be too busy to twat about on games anymore.

Played it for about two hours and gave it back to the kind family member who gave it to me in the first place.
