Overheard the other day: "I've told you before - stop swearing in front of the kids, for fuck's sake." Your tales of double standards please.

What eats fake bacon and stuff.
But I'm apparently the easiest-going vegetarian ever. I don't mind other people eating meat in my house. I don't think anyone else should or shouldn't be a vegetarian. It's my choice, for me. If we go somewhere and the vegetarian options are limited, that's my problem, not yours. I'll be the one put out.
Still, I'm a massive hypocrite. 'Cos I have leather shoes.

SO long as there is one vegi option on the menu then I am happy.
I hate when people I'm eating with apologise for eating meat. I don't give a fuck.
I try not to wear leather shoes but it's not that easy.

My mate went out with a veggie girl who, I think, half did it for the attention. Poor little crusading chick who gets a soapbox every time anyone mentions going for food. 'Oh, no, we can't go there. They only do three vegetarian options and anyway...me me me la la la'.
She wouldn't eat fake bacon, veggie sausages, 'meat' flavoured crisps or Quorn burgers. Why? 'Because they look and taste a bit like meat, which is wrong.'
Er, it is? Oh. I don't object to the taste of bacon. Just the fact that it tends to involve a dead pig.

I once went out with a vegetarian. Who wouldn't let any meat pass her lips.
Unless it was still alive.
wink wink.

I can't see the point of the fake bacon and chicken etc if you like the taste so much, then eat the real stuff - it probably has less E numbers and polywhassernames!

It's not for the taste, but the lack o' meat. I'd as happily eat non-meat flavoured stuff, but it's much rarer.

There's a lot of difference I find. Firstly, none of the veins or fatty bits of string or gristle are present which always put me off meat when I was a wee 'un. Also, the taste and textures are completely different. I find they actually can taste a lot nicer. Lastly, it does seem completely odd to make fake meat but in retrospect it makes it easier to make certain dishes.

If you don't have a problem with other people eating, say, beef... Why is wearing leather a problem?
I used to say that when I was a veggie..
*Cough Cough cough*
