This is a question Crazy People off the Internet

The internet is full of mental. Ever been threatened with violence? Did it spill over into real life? Tell us your story. Or maybe you wish to buck the trend and tell us about the how you've met lots of quite nice, sane people.

Freecycle.
I was helping the folks redecorate their spare room last year, and they'd decided to get rid of a large double wardrobe. Instead of smashing it up and burning it as I had suggested, My mum put it on freecycle and within about 30 seconds someone had snapped it up and said they'd be round later to collect it. I have never used the site, but I can imagine you get all sorts of treehugging weirdos trawling it for free shit.

It took two of us about half an hour to get it down the stairs and out the front door. The woman who came to collect it asked us if we could help her get it into the back of the car.

Her car was a Nissan Micra, with two occupied child seats in the back. She honestly thought that she'd get a double wardrobe in the bootspace of a Micra, and got quite tetchy when we said that there was no way she could, unless she had a wood chipper to hand.

She was clearly a bit stupid and we ended up smashing the wardrobe and burning it.

I've always found freecycle to be very useful
Although sometimes you have to be very specific in how you post things. They can be a little... daft sometimes.

I think there are people out there who genuinely think
'It fits on my PC monitor, and that's smaller than my car.'

I had a similar one ...metal frame sofa bed....by no means a small or lightweight item. I usually go with the first person to reply over any of the sob stories that I've been sent and the first person was happy to come and pick up next day. She then asked the classic question will it fit in a Ka! The first person who said they had a van and and help to move it got it.
I'm not sure of the logic of the sob story people, one claimed to have not had a bed for over a year so surely they would have been better off looking for some extra work so they could buy a bed rather than trawling freecycle endlessly?

My guy didnt turn up
Advertised a sofa bed for free

Guy rings and asks alot of questions, says he is delighted and will pick it up so dont give it anyone else. Then the deal breaker, he asks how close the bus stop is from my house and what bus number to use

I like the wanted posts on Freecycle
They are everso hopeful I saw a post from after a car for free also someone asking for a laptop. This is common but this one listed quite high specifications. I suppose it's worth a punt.

I'm keeping my eye out for a greenhouse & a shed. These things are always going in freecycle but get snapped up really quick

We put an upright piano on freecycle
Within an hour there was a message "I can come round in ten minutes; will it go in Saxo?"

As we'd specified a Transit van and minimum crew of four, this was another example of freecycle fucktardery.

I heard later of another upright piano, where the guy turned up on foot expecting an electronic keyboard and kicked off big time.

I've got loads of children's clothes currently on freecycle
bagged up by age and gender. I carefully listed these.

How many of the 30-odd people who replied stated which bag they wanted?

2.

They got them.
