This is a question Little Victories

I recently received a £2 voucher from a supermarket after complaining vociferously about the poor quality of their own-brand Rich Tea biscuits, which I spent on more tasty, tasty biscuits. Tell us about your trivial victories that have made life a tiny bit better.

Edinburgh Airport now has a £1 fee for dropping people off....
An acquaintance of mine was so incensed by this, he dropped his £1 into the payment basket, the barrier opened, and then he dumped all the rubbish inside his car into the basket before driving off. Win.

I never get that.
How can the cost of the bad feeling it generates be covered by the sqalid pile of pound coins they collect at the end of each day.

I absolutely approve of what your frined did. I'm only sorry he didn't have the chance to take a huge dump in there as well.

Easily.

Money's lush.

.
yes, you are right.

Perhaps we should all take to making noisy claims for £1 every time we are delayed or inconvenienced by a late flight. I know they wouldn't pay, but it might be as irritating to them as their petty pound pinching is to us.

Luton has something similar
but nothing stops you dropping someone off outside of the drop-off area, as long as you can do it quickly.

Heathrow T5 has a charge to enter the pick-up point, but not drop-off. But, since it's trivial to get to departures from arrivals, pick people up from the drop-off point.

At least...
...it will dissuade TERRORISTS!
I can see it now. A van full of rabid extremeists willing to kill themselves and others for whatever reason they see fit. Disheartened, defeated and slightly peeved by £1.

"has anyone brought change"

Had a similar thing..
I had a pound coin from Gibraltar. They are not legal tender in England, but look similar enough. Dropped that in, barrier opened.. win :)

Cardiff had that in 2009
In 2010 they'd changed things a bit. Lazy fucker who wants to get picked up/dropped off at the door? Pay a quid-something. Prepared to walk to/from the bus stop down the road? Free. Obviously had too many complaints about charging people for a forced trip through the short-stay.
