You will never know the pain....
of having an arterial blood sample being taken from your wrist.
And don't try and say that childbirth blah blah blah, because i'm not a woman and therefor I don't really care.

I was also going to reply
...it's nothing compared to kidney stones.

See my post below (if you can be bothered)
I have had that, and it did indeed hurt, but having a camera shoved down your Jap's eye is way more painful, believe me.

Arterial blood samples - ouch!! I had to have them a couple of times when I have been been in hospital with asthma. It's the way you feel the needle threading its way between the bones that is truly cringeworthy!

I had one of them
on a recent asthma emergency trip to A&E. I had never heard of them, and was almost pooping my pants when the doctor lady explained what would be happening. 'We can't actually see the artery, so once I've punctured the skin, I'll have to feel around for it. Is that ok?'
'yes'
I looked away when she commenced her prodding and didn't feel a thing. Hard arse, me. Or, possibly, I was buzzing too hard off the nebulisers...

I would know the pain
As I have had it done. It sucks the cheese from under the rim of a line of syphyllitic dead donkey cocks, but seeing as I was half conscious with a dose of pneumonia which had also happily triggered off an asthma attack, I wasn't in much of a position to argue about it.
In cases like these O2 100% is the nicest thing I can think of
