at 13 weeks.
The technical term for this is an abortion but as I got near hysterical when it was referred to that way they called it a miscarriage. Then one nurse said to me that I was making a fuss over no more than a "dot". I asked her if she had children, been pregnant or lost a much wanted baby after it had been confirmed by the doctors and she said that she had not.
I told her to come see me when her "dot" was scraped away.

Although I've never had any intent of being a mom, I could never be that insensitive.

I would've slapped the nurse's face off after that comment.

luckily my medical team were much better (if you discount the 3 visits where they seem to think keeping someone who is losing/has lost their baby waiting in a room with other pregnant women for well over 30 mins each time 'much better')
Your nurse should not have been working in this area with that attitude, did you put in a complaint to the hospital (I know, its the last thing you are thinking about at a time like that)?

I was fortunate enough to get kind and compassionate care when I miscarried. I've heard that that's not necessarily the default attitude and I'm really sorry to hear you were treated like that. It's a physically and emotionally awful time and women should be guaranteed decent support.

Mrs Memorial and I have suffered 2 12 week miscarriages ourselves and still trying.
Thankfully the crappy hospital that was feted by the risible STV (Glasgow's Queen Mother's) is now defunct but I'm sure the thoughtless, uncaring and tactless staff are still being employed by the NHS. Don't get me wrong, most of them were brilliant, caring and sympathetic but the ones they allowed out the first time were unbelievable.
Don't give in and make sure you complain. Explain to these officious medics that it isn't a complaint about them personally; just their professionalism...

she should've been sacked for that.
I bet her own mother would've been ashamed of her.

I got one bit wrong - it was May 1998.
Afterwards I got pregnant pretty quickly and my second daughter was an accidental home delivery April 1999. The paramedics were wonderful and it was the first ever emergency birth for one of them which made it a bit special.
