Oh bad times Gonz, hope your employer's sound about it and that you get a bit fixed up soon
I'm suffering the after-effects of mum's roast.

Yeah but I assume DJ isn't there
so at least you can parp away to your hearts content.

I'm learning to be discreet.
I can now fart down my pyjama leg and shake it out of the window*

Be cool if you could though, right?
After many years practise 90% of the time I can fart entirely silently. This is a skill worth learning.

I can fart totally silently
But if it's going to smell, don't let it out, people!
(, Sun 9 Jan 2011, 21:41, Reply)
You've got to let it out
you'll explode else. I agree it's polite to go to the bathroom and do it there if it's going to be a corker, though. (unless of course you don't like your present company, in which case drop it with glee and watch the Smell spread)

I once cleared my mum's family out of the living room, then out of the front door.
They decided it was time to leave anyway.
Grandad came to the front window to give me a reproachful look, then my uncle came to the living room door briefly, with Nana's cardie over his face, to request his jacket.

Hahaha, oh dear!
that is quite impressive. No wonder you keep 'em clenched in front of the mister!

I'll keep up the Nigella/Marilyn thing until we're married
Then grow a beard and collect some more cats.
(, Sun 9 Jan 2011, 21:58, Reply)
Sounds like a plan
I may as well give up on the former already and get started on the latter. I miss having a cat :(
(, Sun 9 Jan 2011, 22:00, Reply)
Don't give up, it's fun.
I'm making a 50s gingham apron.
Soon.
And cats, none to make you laugh, none to make you cry...
(, Sun 9 Jan 2011, 22:04, Reply)
Haha, my last project was a cheerleader outfit
for Hallowe'en. (I was a zombie, but in a short dress with pompoms) I plan to learn to crochet this year, but, y'know.
Soon.
I don't think my cat has ever made me cry despite being as mad as a box of frogs, I just can't really have her here as I rent, and 99% of landlords don't like pets in their properties, it seems.
(, Sun 9 Jan 2011, 22:14, Reply)
Shit, I can't get rid of Tigger.

(, Sun 9 Jan 2011, 22:15, Reply)
I'm sure it'll be okay
you might just have to hunt around a bit. I can have pets here, for instance, but I couldn't at most places I looked at and it's not feasible because I don't know how long I'll be here for.
Nag DJ in to buying a flat together!
(, Sun 9 Jan 2011, 22:18, Reply)
Nah we want to rent, in case we fancy moving around.
Ah, the burdens of being a single mother.
(, Sun 9 Jan 2011, 22:29, Reply)
Tell people Tigger is a guide cat.

(, Sun 9 Jan 2011, 22:19, Reply)
Well, they do have cats for the disabled...
and I am retarded...
(, Sun 9 Jan 2011, 22:29, Reply)
Job done.
You might even get a blue badge for your car.

Cool, do you like roast chicken? I do an awesome roast chicken which is a combination of stuff different people have done over the years.
I'm not a fan of roasts, but every now and then they really hit the spot. I'll blog up how I do the chicken one day, but generally I do
- Cut down both sides of the backbone and flatten so all the skin is exposed to air and therefore gets golden crispy
- Lay on a bed of onions which go slightly mushy but allow air to get under it and they are great to go with the roasted veg that I do along side the chicken.
- Make a butter using any or all of the combination of Chorizo/Garlic/Rosmerry... cut a slit into each breast and leg skin, feed it through and then massage it in.
- Cover with sliced garlic and tomarto paste (sundried tomarto is better still)... gives a great crispness and a subtal flavour.

That sounds gorgeous!
I should get a chicken and roast it this week, then make soup/stock/whatever.
(, Sun 9 Jan 2011, 21:44, Reply)
Niice, I love the next day sandwiches.

(, Sun 9 Jan 2011, 21:46, Reply)
Ooh yes.
But with loads of butter, and that is off the menu for a while.
