Hmm
I'm a fan of Henderson Cisz. I have one of his prints in my room. I just like the picture as a whole, it's a New York one, I'd quite like to get one of his London ones. But they are expensive and I think I've used up all my important birthdays :p

Annoyingly I almost bought one of his "island" (not this one but similar) prints a while back but couldn't justify the £200 at the time, can I find anywhere to buy it from now? No. No I can not.

Oh if I had a free £1200
I'd buy this

Eh, I'll stick to black and white photography prints

(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:21, Reply)
I'd like to own an original Cisz

(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:22, Reply)
I had one of them removed from my neck
Looked like a chick pea, but there was not much hummus.

You're lucky I like you

(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:24, Reply)
Aren't I just!

(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:24, Reply)
There are many things I'd like to own
An original piece of art doesn't appear on the list at all.
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:24, Reply)
Original art is very high on my list!
I live very close to here www.wills-art.com/ which is chock full of wonderful stuff that even with affordable in the company name I cannot afford!
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:26, Reply)
I know it's an investment and all that
But it just doesn't interest me. Like I said, I like B&W photographs of natural settings (waterfalls, forests, beaches etc), but I can pick those up cheap in Ikea.
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:28, Reply)
But then your house will look like everybody elses!
the investment thing is secondary, I love knowing that I have the only one of certain things, makes it special like
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:30, Reply)
I think the appeal for original art is you know under the paint there will be layers of stuff that has been painted over
changed around and more of a depth to a real painting than you can ever get from a print.
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:33, Reply)
*shrugs* none of that appeals to me

I promise it won't ;)
There are some photographic prints by Rob Sheridan I'd buy. As for individuality, I have a NIN collector's boxset, signed, one of only 2,500. That'll do me.
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:33, Reply)
Well I'm shocked everyone doesn't share my tastes and priorities.
I think this is the fault of them there forrins and as ssuch I am writing a letter to the Daily Mail right now

Might as well get a Vettriano.

The "Lovers and other strangers" series in particular.

I have something a little bit similar.

EDIT - I had no idea that was the same guy that did this, I saw this in the art shop back home and loved it to bits: this
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:26, Reply)
I do like his London pieces.
I have a NY one (also I am vipros smug that I have print 1 / 195)
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:35, Reply)
you can be even more smug
because I really like his paintings and am envious
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:37, Reply)
I am really pleased my Dad agreed to buy it for my 21st

(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:38, Reply)
I'm not surprised.
I'm pleased that we can bond over a shared appreciation of art
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:52, Reply)

next time I see you we shall get some wine and discuss ways we can save money to buy an original
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:57, Reply)
that sounds like an excellent plan

(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:58, Reply)

I need £4500.. dammit
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 16:05, Reply)
Save yourself the cash
And just take a pic of the London Eye on your phone next time you walk by it.
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 16:06, Reply)
The one I came close to buying was a London one
probably 6ft by 3ft. £1200

:-(
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 16:07, Reply)
That is insanely smug
and rightly so, I was just looking at that and it's lovely. I prefer Cityscape I though, and if I had the money I would buy it right fucking now.
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:43, Reply)
they look so good in the flesh as well
I did literally almost spend £1200 on a massive original one.

when they were that cheap. *grumbles*
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:46, Reply)
And why didn't you, foolish boy?

(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:48, Reply)
I think I spent it on something I actually urgently needed

(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:51, Reply)
A facelift?
I hope you kept the receipt. You look like a baboon's scrotum.
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:54, Reply)

I looked like your scrotum
(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:56, Reply)
Oh man I need to sell more bathrooms so I can afford more of his stuff

(, Thu 20 Jan 2011, 15:48, Reply)
Damn you
he's the only artist I can admit to liking

The mrs and I almost bought one of his massive paintings a few years ago, but decided against it. Now they are worth 3 times as much
