these days 90 mins in the gym
about 5 times a week

usually about 20-30 mins walking around london (unless it's raining) daily

thank god for i-pods, couldn't do it without mine!

90 mins in the gym?!
I hated my gym, so 90 mins i there would drive me to suicide.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 11:36, Reply)
the gym is fucking boring, even with music
and full of cunts.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 11:37, Reply)
I couldn't agree more
At my local leisure centre you just couldn't get on the weights either unless you went at 3pm. There were always beefcake muscleheads using them.

It's all down to what music, I think
A friend of mine recently did some insane bench presses, while having some Berzerker playing in his ears, said it certainly made it a bit more fun.

I tried it with all sorts of music
and I just got bored no matter what. I have a pretty low boredom threshold though.

Strangely however, I can swim with no music happily for like 40 minutes. If I had music I could do it all day.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 11:50, Reply)
I can (when fitter) cycle for hours without music if it's out in the countryside
Of course I don't listen to music while cycling on roads, that's just fucking stupid.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 11:54, Reply)
fortunately my route to work takes me down my residential and quiet road, across a busy one
and then the rest of it is parks, and cyclepaths that are away from the road, which is nice.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 11:56, Reply)
My work route is 75% main roads
So no music at all. The extra 6 miles is a country cycle path, so I can stick headphones in then.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 11:59, Reply)
that's gay
I hate cycling on main roads. I always find the buses go out of their way to scare the shit out of cyclists.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:03, Reply)
Busses are cunts no matter what sort of road user you are.
Turning right at a roundabout in Uxbridge, just up from the bus station is always infuriating. The bus drivers always try to batter their way over the roundabout without giving way.

The amount of fingers I have to issue as I go by is rapidly developing into truly staggering numbers.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:12, Reply)
Part of my route is by the high school and college
I no longer cycle there during the school run times, as when it's not buses trying to kill me it's hordes of teenagers stepping into the road in front of me.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:16, Reply)
I feel your pain
I have to cycle through campus every morning - it's so bad in freshers week I am constantly tempted to mow them down.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:18, Reply)
As a car driver in a relatively low speed manouevre
I'm pretty happy to risk them running into me, so I refuse to let them win. If I were a cyclist, it'd be pretty scary.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:26, Reply)
Of course you can have music on - I do
just make sure you can hear the traffic over it.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:04, Reply)
My earphones are inner ear, sound isolation ones
Plus if I can hear stuff over the music, then I'm not listening to it.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:14, Reply)
While I must say I admire your dedication
Are you bonkers? That's so much exercise!
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 11:37, Reply)
That is lunatic behaviour.
That is a full working day spent exercising.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 11:40, Reply)
You're going to end up fucked from doing that much.
Dodgy knees, etc.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 11:54, Reply)
^this
I'm paranoid about injuring my knees since I twisted one while surfing. Fucking agony and twinged for ages. I know a surprisingly large number of people who have had to have knee surgery after injuring it just playing sport or something.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 11:55, Reply)
My left knee's weaker because I broke my leg a few years back
Hence I cycle and occasionally swim because of zero impact.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 11:58, Reply)
gyms are usually fine
there's nothing there that is high enough impact to damage your knees really

doesn't change the fact that gyms are fucking awful, though.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:04, Reply)
they really are.
Particularly as I have no interest in being toned and musclebound. I can get my fitness just as easily and considerably cheaper elsewhere.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:06, Reply)
I'd like to get rid of the spare tire, then I'll be happy
If there happen to be some toned muscles underneath then that'll be a bonus.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:08, Reply)
You don't have a spare tire
I'm not even sure it qualifies as a spare inner tube.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:09, Reply)
I hide it well
Apart from on Saturday, when I flashed my torso and nipples. And I can't remember who to.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:11, Reply)
You hide it well
because it's in your head and not your waistline.
I don't *think* it was me, but, uhm...there are some 'scenes missing' from my evening.
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:14, Reply)
Might have been Lusty, TGB and maybe al...

(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:19, Reply)
Do you really do 90 minutes exercise?
because you should be burning more than a 1000 calories a session if so, and then you could eat what the fuck you liked..
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 11:58, Reply)
without wanting to cast aspersions
I suspect it may be 90 minutes of "exercise"
(, Tue 25 Jan 2011, 12:03, Reply)
I was "thinking" that.
