Maybe in 1998 you were technically correct
Otherwise, no.

I'm fairly sure the year doesn't affect how something tastes.
Food, unlike clothes, does not have a fashion period.
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:04, Reply)
I disagree food does have fashions
but like fashion you can eat(wear) what you like as long as you like it.
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:06, Reply)
Probably badly phrased
In that, yeah, pretentious wankers declare certain restaurants and cooking styles "in" but the difference between clothes and food is that food that is good will always be appreciated and valued by those that know better.

let me point out again
that Darth doesn't understand because he is a massive bender.

I find the thing about cliched 70s dinner party food to be stupid. Prawn cocktail, fondue and tiramisu are all fucking awesome.

I make an epically good coq au vin
although it takes a fair while, involves setting fire to shit and is probably worse for you than mainlining lard.
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:16, Reply)
Fondue is entirely "meh"
Prawn Cocktail - well, my inlaws love it, personally I'd rather just have prawns and sweet chilli sauce, but it's okay.
And Tiramasu is rank. Vienetta is the shit you want.
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:25, Reply)
it's confirmed
you are a fucking spastic

I got tickets to see Suede in May.
I'm very happy. They are playing the whole of "Coming Up"

I can't wait to meet you
I'm going to attach a car battery to your groin.
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:34, Reply)
I can't wait

(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:37, Reply)
I agree, Tiramasu is fucking wank.
Vienetta is fucking superb.
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:31, Reply)
For this, I will remove the stipulation for you to spike your penis.

(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:32, Reply)
You've just never had a decent Tiramisu, then.

(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:33, Reply)
I've tried what other people have proclaimed to be wonderful tiramisu
It's just creamy coffee tasting bleurgh. I generally don't like coffee in desserts, though the wife made a fantastic coffee and walnut cake last year.
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:35, Reply)
coffee and walnut cake is one of life's great things

(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:37, Reply)
I'm pretty sure a chef mate of mine told me
that almost every single restaurant tiramisu is the same and is supplied by one frozen food company, it's just that they present it slightly differently. But he was drunk. And he is from Hull. So who knows?
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:38, Reply)
No, this was home made by one of the women who worked in the kitchen

(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:42, Reply)
Football reference
It's funny because in 1998 France won the World Cup.

(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:07, Reply)
It's not a French dish.

(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:10, Reply)
belgian?

(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:11, Reply)
basically, yeah.

(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:18, Reply)
The name is French
That was the entire basis of the joke, which I now accept was not a classic
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:11, Reply)
I suspect they'd probably say it's Wallonian
but - while I realise it's cock if you have to explain it, it was actually a pretty good subtle joke, it was just way too early on a Friday for me to get it. Try it again after I've had a third cup of tea ;)
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:14, Reply)
The exact same joke?
I'm not ACTUALLY PsychoChomp. Thank you for the kind words, though
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:19, Reply)
yeah, the same joke, why not?
I've got a really short attenti ... woah, a butterfly!
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:32, Reply)
Hahaha
Classic
(, Fri 28 Jan 2011, 9:40, Reply)
Pah they've been eating good food since at least 1992
