having a boring night and going to bed early means you can have an awesome morning, such as tonight I will be likely bored out of my skull, but hey, saturday we're making SNOWMEN!

What you need to understand Kristine
is that AA is a young man in the UK, and young men in the UK have serious problems with alcohol. They don't view it as something to enjoy as a treat once in a while, it is viewed as an emotional crutch and a substitute for a fulfilling and worthwhile life.
