Hmm, no good news really
Other than Kitty out of the blue saying she's bought me a belated birthday present! This is awesome.

Favourite song EVAH: Live version because it was the last song they played at their last proper UK gig. I was there and it was beautiful.

Did you cry?

No I did not, nor am I
Morning Badger!
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:46, Reply)
hey squishybear
Looking forward to tonight? I am still jealous :(
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:47, Reply)
I am indeed!
Seems we're going to a gay pub afterwards though, I think Helen (you don't know her, but I'm saying her name anyway) is meeting a date there. Quite why she's dragging three post-gig-sweaty mates to a date is beyond me.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:49, Reply)
In case her date turns out to be Chompy?

True dat

I prefer the Johnny Cash version tbh

(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:47, Reply)
WRONG

(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:48, Reply)
It is a good version
But the original trumps it for me.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:48, Reply)
I didn't know the original when I heard the Johnny Cash version
So I'm a little biased.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:49, Reply)
Good choice sir.
Johnny Cash's cover of that gives me mixed feelings; on the one hand it's a very decent tune, on the other it angers me that more people are aware of it than the infintely superior original.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:49, Reply)
You're much taller than I imagined you to be
and quite a lot better looking too.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:50, Reply)
You replied to the wrong person Al
You're not as fat as I imagined you to be.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:51, Reply)
No I didn't
I saw him on the telly the other night. He got a lot of hard questions right that I wouldn't have. I was impressed.

Though his little speech at the end was very homosexual.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:54, Reply)
Oh, god, I know
They asked me about 5 or 6 questions and I talked for nearly ten minutes to do that bit - what I enjoyed about it, what I'm going to do with the money - so for them to pick that 6 second soundbite was gutting.

Thank you though Al, that's very decent of you.

*trigger giners*
Don't worry, normal service will soon resume.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:59, Reply)
I might print this out and frame it

(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 10:04, Reply)
I was aiming for trigger fingers
I'm not quite sure what happened there.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 10:14, Reply)
'ginas?

(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 10:17, Reply)
I assumed as much
I was going to print it as proof of what a sweetheart you are
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 10:18, Reply)
I was also impressed

(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 10:02, Reply)
Cheers Lab
I know you're a brainy twat so that's good to know
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 10:05, Reply)
As I said yesterday
You got one or two that stumped me, and I also wouldn't have said W H Auden.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 10:07, Reply)
Appreciate it :-)

(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 10:18, Reply)
You feeling all right mate?
Thank you very much
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:53, Reply)
This!
Jo CUNTING Wiley once introduced the song as NIN's cover of Johnny Cash's classic 'Hurt'....
RAGE!
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:50, Reply)
Someone once (I think they were on Radio 1) asked The Zutons why they'd decided to cover the Amy Winehouse track 'Valerie'
Nearly as dumb as the woman who asked The Corrs how they met. FFS.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:52, Reply)
Not as funny as Radio 5(?)
asking RATM not to swear
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:54, Reply)
I think that was someone else
Then again, I think RATM should grow up, and realise swearing for the point of it stopped being funny years ago.

Also, their music is 90% shit.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:55, Reply)
Your entire life is 90% shit
and 10% green day
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:56, Reply)
0% Green Day
Roughly 30% shit.

The rest isn't too bad, thanks for asking.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 10:01, Reply)
Indeed. They are basically the musical version of Kevin the teenager.
fuck YOU I won't tidy my bedroom.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 10:01, Reply)
Sara Cox once joked about asking the White Stripes how they met, when they were still pretending to be brother and sister for some bizarre reason
I think a better question to ask them would be "WHY did you meet?" or "can I have the time I wasted watching your astonishingly dull set at Glastonbury in 2005 back please?"
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:59, Reply)
They've split for good now

(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 10:01, Reply)
I'll never forgive them for having the temerity to turn up on the Pyramid stage and be so fucking boring
You can get away with not saying a damn word if you're the best band in the world. Not if you're the White fucking Stripes
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 10:06, Reply)
You're kidding
What an absolute cuntrag
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:53, Reply)
why be angry?
it still means more people are aware of the song. If they didn't know the Cash version, they wouldn't know it at all. And the Cash version is different, it does add something, although I do much prefer the NIN version.
(, Fri 4 Feb 2011, 9:59, Reply)
Jealous jealous jealous
That is all.
