well I've only seen the first episode and it was pretty good
only downfall for me is that they're in high school and I know that's the way it's supposed to be, but I just don't think real teens are that way at all

I dunno
the original UK series was set in the city I live in, and the first series came out when I was about that age (A-levels) and it was pretty similar for a lot of people

maybe I'm just out of touch
I don't live in the city so I guess my perspective is a little skewed

Also I guess maybe America is different
harder to get hold of booze.

true
do they prosecute when you're caught contributing to minors over there?

I think you're allowed to give
a certain quantity of alcohol to your own child within the house, and I can't think of anything I've heard about people being prosecuted for buying alcohol for those younger than them. The law comes down like a ton of bricks on supermarkets and pubs caught selling alcohol to the underage though

that's how it used to be here I think but I think the problem is that most kids are forbidden and we have to wait so long
that when we get it we go crazy, at least that's what I did
my cousin died from alcohol poisoning and they prosecuted the guy that bought the booze for the party he was at

From chatting to several American exchange students
apparantly even at university we drink a lot more than American counterparts do, and nearly everyone I know drank well before the legal age of 18

I think the majority of people where I'm from tend to start drinking around prom and graduation
