blousie sent me some completely unexpected flowers
being so lovely, of course.

To keep them from drying out, they were wrapped at the bottom in what can only be described as a nappy. For flowers. I swear when I picked it up, it felt just like a pissy nappy.

I have a friend who was a teacher, and a bloody good one.
Unfortunately, because he was a good teacher the school gave him all the dross classes to teach, and, even though they lapped his classes up, it left him feeling really disillusioned because he felt he couldn't properly fulfil his talent. Had they mixed it up with higher set and lower set classes he might have stayed in the profession.

I wouldn't agree with that - I had some spectular teachers who always had really good classes,
and they just helped by making sure people knew they were open to listening if there were problems.

I may be biased
because my dad has always gravitated towards working in disadvantaged schools, but kids with real genuine problems who sometimes shouldn't be in mainstream education at all need more than a listening ear.

I think you're allowed to give
a certain quantity of alcohol to your own child within the house, and I can't think of anything I've heard about people being prosecuted for buying alcohol for those younger than them. The law comes down like a ton of bricks on supermarkets and pubs caught selling alcohol to the underage though

that's how it used to be here I think but I think the problem is that most kids are forbidden and we have to wait so long
that when we get it we go crazy, at least that's what I did
my cousin died from alcohol poisoning and they prosecuted the guy that bought the booze for the party he was at
