TRIVIA TIME
what is one song you are guaranteed to hear in a redneck bar, that will bring all the laydeez to their feet to gyrate against your sweaty beer gut?
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:25, 5 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I know that if I say "Sweet Home Alabama" it'll look like I took a cue from Monty's post above
but that would have been my guess anyway
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:28, Reply)
Either that or "I love rock 'n' roll"

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:31, Reply)
"Pour Some Sugar On Me"

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:38, Reply)
I fucking love that song
"Do you take sugar? ONE LUMP OR TWO!"
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:39, Reply)
There's some songs that get the crowd going once in a while, but nothing compared to this.
Every fucking time.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:41, Reply)
Who invited you to an English party then?

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:44, Reply)
it's a lemonparty

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:51, Reply)
Oh, that would be great.
I should organise one of them.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 16:04, Reply)
Thought you'd never ask!

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:40, Reply)
You're KIDDING
Why on Earth would America, of all places, be interested in Def Leppard? They're just peddling a really dull version of a sound that your own bands do infinitely better
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:41, Reply)
What evs DF. Def Leppard is awesome.

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:42, Reply)
I did a 70s/80s/90s rock night for a couple of years here in glorious Norwich
and it never once occured to me that anyone might want to hear Def Leppard. Ironically, Sweet Home Alabama always went down a fucking storm.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:45, Reply)
Of course they would
you should have played Animal.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:47, Reply)
Damn straight
I saw them last year (or was it the year before?) with Whitesnake supporting. Most unintentionally homoerotic evening I have ever spent. But still brilliant.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:46, Reply)
What the blithering fuck are you wittering on about?
Def Leppard sold absolutely fucking MILLIONS of records in America. They were the biggest seller for a couple of years and broke loads of sales records etc.

Your argument is nonsense too: why would America want to hear the Beatles/Stones/Kinks/Yardbirds/Who/Zeppelin etc etc etc because they invented blues & r&b?

But you know what? They did, just a little bit.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:46, Reply)
You're absolutely right, of course
My argument was ill-conceived and badly fleshed out. The central concept was that Def Leppard are massively crap compared to Bon Jovi, but I fancy you're going to take issue with that as well.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:53, Reply)
why do they need to be compared?
I like about 3 songs by both of them.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:58, Reply)
Fever for the Flava, by Hot Action Cop.
Duh.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:29, Reply)

I can see that one didn't impress you much...

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:41, Reply)
Shania is awesome.
I don't much like songs like that one, but she has some pretty good songs on her cds.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:44, Reply)

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:45, Reply)
It's a country thing.

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:48, Reply)
I love decent country music.
'whoa-u-u-oh turdally crayzeee' is just fucking shit.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:51, Reply)

Take two points.

And prepare for our manliness revocation team to arrive and repossess your penis

This from the man who opened a thread with:
"I'd put Chompy into a steel cage match with the Undertaker and his tag team partner"
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:47, Reply)
Do you really need to cite example
in order to underline that me accusing someone of a lack of manliness is somewhat hypocritical?
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:49, Reply)
No, but since you left it dangling there for all of us to see, I thought I'd make use of it

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 15:54, Reply)

Rocky Top is a hit though.
