I realise neither system is perfect, but Al sqaid that there are NO advantages to FPTP
and there clearly are, this doesn't mean it's the best system though.

The whole point of having a referendum
is that you have two choices, the AV system isn't a perfect voting system, no voting system ever really is, but it's better than FPTP and nobody arguing to keep FPTP has come up with a single positive reason why you should vote for FPTP, only negative attacks on AV, of which all the ones I have seen have either been lies or incorrect.

Bored of this...really I was just playing Devils Advocat, I can see adv and disadv of both
unlees AV is trialled we won't know the actual consequences of the system, a referendum I think will favour FPTP and so the whole argument is moot.

I genuinely cannot see an advantage of FPTP over AV
if you can see one please do tell me.

Also, saying "it's probably going to go this way so there's no point in arguing" kind of defeats the point of any sort of debate doesn't it.
