WILL YOU PEOPLE STOP MAKING ME HUNGRY
Some of us have to go home and look after an ill coeliac vegtarian with a keen sense of smell. The chances of me cooking up a slab of dead animal are phenomenally slim tonight

I'm having at least a 10oz steak
cooked as rare as possible with chips, peppercorn sauce and some form of vegetable decoration.

Edit: the decoration will be discarded with an accompanying flick of the Vs at Ethiopia.

I need to track you down
break into your house, distract you and eat your tea

Break into my house all you want
I shall be at the pub, gorging myself on hot meat.

pub food?
damn, that's harder to steal

You, sir, are a blaggard and a rotter
I would continue to call you names but I doubt you'll be able to hear me over the sound of how awesome your food will be

spicy pumpkin soup
many mushrooms and garlic pappardelle with shaved parmesan

stilton on walnut bread

other (somewhat cruel) highlights on the menu were venison cheek, black-faced baby lamb, lobster risotto, pumpkin and goats cheese ravioli, wild cod with champagne and mushroom fricassee, roast suckling pig, hot chocolate fondant with orange ice cream, belgian chocolate and hazelnut tart, giant citron macaroon... it was great!

OMG roast pig.
Baby lamb? Is there any other kind?
(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 16:19, Reply)
That does sound amazing
however it also sounds like the kind of place that would cost more than I earn in a week.

i think it was about £10 a starter, £20 a main and £8-10 a pudding
so not too bad. but the wines were v expensive!
(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 16:21, Reply)
Yeah, that's probably about twice as much
as I normally pay when I go out for dinner. And expensive booze is a bad, bad thing.

EDIT - I googled the menu. Oh my goodness.
(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 16:26, Reply)
yes, it's stunning!

Is black-faced baby lamb
One of those outcast sheep?
(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 16:25, Reply)
Quite popular in the Thirties
but gradually fell out of favour when people started to think it was a bit racist.
