It's really very hard to know who has invoked the shitter song here
Although that was a quality strikethrough by anyone's standards
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 10:47, Reply)
It's a fantastic song!
I've walked fucking miles and miles this last week which I reckon has got to be good training.

You know how you can tell it's not a good song? Cos it's by fucking Aerosmith
Good work there - I've been ill and haven't broken into so much as a jog for 9 days. At this point in time you are almost certainly fitter than me, along with most of the adult population of the world.

Sweet Emotion is a good song
and that is also by Aerosmith. So there.

Good tune
Great guitar riff

Also "Make It" is an excellent song

Luckily for you I consider the phrase "the exception that proves the rule" to be self-contradictory bollocks
so I shall retort, in the style of my accuser, "No it isn't. It is fucking shit."

Dream On is quite good though
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 10:58, Reply)
"the exception that proves the rule" is not self contradictory
it's just most people don't understand what it actually means.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 11:01, Reply)
I am genuinely willing to learn here
Please elaborate
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 11:03, Reply)
Okay, a good example would be a sign saying "Parking here is free on Sundays"
the implication being that other than on Sundays the parking is not free. Therefore pointing out the exception (free parking on sunday) proves the rule (you must pay for parking at other times).

So it's a perfectly valid phrase, but it's not appropriate to many situations and so is usually used incorrectly.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 11:05, Reply)
That actually makes perfect sense
Thank you

By utter coincidence Duran Duran's "Rio" has just popped up on my playlist
Am genuinely tempted to go and see them this year

(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 10:54, Reply)
Missed me, haven't you

(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 10:55, Reply)
My brother is going.
But then he likes Rammstein and is therefore a witless tosser.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 10:54, Reply)
Rammstein serve a purpose
Granted, one (or one's crowd, they're enormously popular at metal club nights) need to be massively drunk to appreciate this purpose.
(, Mon 21 Mar 2011, 11:00, Reply)
I do rather like that song. A classic.
