In answer to both above posts
I sometimes forget that I get cheap parts and servicing etc. because my brother's mate is a splendid fellow.

Still though, there are a lot of things that piss me off about Fords that would stop me ever buying one.

I quite agree, I'd never have another Ford.
I've driven my share of them and they're totally uninvolving. They're little more than school-run shuttles. Still, parts are cheap and plentiful so if you're just after something to get you to the shops and back, they'll do fine. Just don't expect the wheel and pedals to feel connected to anything, that's all.

I find things like the positioning of vents
and the way that, unlike all sensible cars, you have to press the end of the lever to spray the front screen, rather than pulling the thing towards you very irritating.

Yeah, that irritates the piss out of me.
I like Jap cars because the indicator stalk is on the right side, built as they are for driving on the correct side of the road.

YM wrong
The majority of the population are right-handed, so having the right-hand side closest to oncoming traffic is clearly the wisest course in terms of reacting to issues.

The focus is best in class for driving involvement
