It's a long-term thing, I can't concentrate and every time I wake up I have melodies or beats running through my head.
I say long-term, the past couple of months it's been back after a long absence.

It's a distraction technique I think.
My whole life seems to be a battle between left and right brain thinking.

I've always had my head in the clouds.
Just seems my brain wants to keep on going up to space.

Why would anyone want to join a band that only gets to play in their local pub because their drummer's dad is a manager of the local leasure centre and the landlord wants them to have their christmas party there?

Their drummer's dad?
Dave Brock of Hawkwind is 72: I would imagine his dad is manager of the Glenn Miller Orchestra.

Please tell me you looked up his age.
I don't even know exactly how old my Flatmate is, and it was her birthday a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if this says more about you or me.

Total AWESOME, sushi rocks.
Yesterday I found an american resturant not far from that does foot long hotdogs and the most amazing stunning shockingly good bluecheese sauce I have ever had the delight to behold. And their ribs, although arne't hte best in the planet, are fucking good.

That sounds good.
There's a newish American bar just up from mine in which I bought the best burrito I've had this side of the Atlantic yesterday. Interesting beers too, though I know that's not your scene.

The beers I can take-or-leave, but the burritos sound awesome.
Man, I'm really hungry now, and I'm working well late every day this week.
I should have had a proper lunch =(

no necessarily, but it's more likely
I'm right handed, but not very - I do some things left handed. If I'm honest I'm more cackhanded and clumsy

That's me when I'm trying to sleep.
I'm afraid I have no cure for this.
Sing them into a dictaphone and transcribe them later? Perhaps 'dealing with' your frustrated creativity will lay it to rest for a bit? I'd like to know if this works.

Interesting.
It's when I wake up, usually, even if it's four in the morning and I just turn over and wake up slightly, all of a sudden there's stuff racing around my head then it's taken over by music. Then I can't clear my head and get back to sleep.

In fact this is the worse I've slept in a long long time.

I've got a gizmo that has my radio plugged into it
When I wake up I press the button and it gives me 40 minutes of radio 4 and then goes off. I'm always asleep again within 5 minutes.

When I cannot sleep due to work stress mixed with MDs
I have found getting up and writing a to-do list immensely helpful. Then I can get back to writing pointless and endlessly-repeated riffs...

I've done that a few times, write that shit down and get it out of your head.
But once I've found the coordination to find my glasses, turn on a light, get a pen and pad together and actually write something, I'm awake.

Ah, well you see, my problem
is that I am more awake than one could believe possible already, so even if I did wear glasses this couldn't make things any worse...
