It's a long-term thing, I can't concentrate and every time I wake up I have melodies or beats running through my head.
I say long-term, the past couple of months it's been back after a long absence.

It's a distraction technique I think.
My whole life seems to be a battle between left and right brain thinking.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:45, Reply)
join us on the right side
it's way more crazy over here. Daydreaming, scatterbraining...
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:46, Reply)
I've always had my head in the clouds.
Just seems my brain wants to keep on going up to space.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:47, Reply)
Because you're one of those hopeless dreamers
There's no hope for you apart apart from a stern talking to. This will be dealt at BGBs
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:49, Reply)
wallow in it
make things, come up with ideas. Those left-brainers have no idea how much fun it is
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:49, Reply)
You should join Hawkwind.

(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:49, Reply)

join Hawkwind

pull your socks up, get your head out of the clouds and act like a man.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:52, Reply)

Why would anyone want to join a band that only gets to play in their local pub because their drummer's dad is a manager of the local leasure centre and the landlord wants them to have their christmas party there?

(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:54, Reply)
Their drummer's dad?
Dave Brock of Hawkwind is 72: I would imagine his dad is manager of the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:57, Reply)
Please tell me you looked up his age.
I don't even know exactly how old my Flatmate is, and it was her birthday a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if this says more about you or me.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 18:05, Reply)
I did not look it up - actually he might be 73 now.

How was the Sushi do?
Sorry we couldn't come.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:58, Reply)
Total AWESOME, sushi rocks.
Yesterday I found an american resturant not far from that does foot long hotdogs and the most amazing stunning shockingly good bluecheese sauce I have ever had the delight to behold. And their ribs, although arne't hte best in the planet, are fucking good.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 18:07, Reply)
That sounds good.
There's a newish American bar just up from mine in which I bought the best burrito I've had this side of the Atlantic yesterday. Interesting beers too, though I know that's not your scene.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 18:14, Reply)
The beers I can take-or-leave, but the burritos sound awesome.
Man, I'm really hungry now, and I'm working well late every day this week.

I should have had a proper lunch =(

Are they/we left-handed (I am)?

(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:47, Reply)
no necessarily, but it's more likely
I'm right handed, but not very - I do some things left handed. If I'm honest I'm more cackhanded and clumsy
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:48, Reply)

It's form of this new popular music
that they've been talking about for ooooh, the last forty or fifty years.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:50, Reply)

modern music Sir, Black eyed Peas Sir, very sorry Sir
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:50, Reply)
They are a very sorry bunch indeed.

(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:54, Reply)
That's me when I'm trying to sleep.
I'm afraid I have no cure for this.

Sing them into a dictaphone and transcribe them later? Perhaps 'dealing with' your frustrated creativity will lay it to rest for a bit? I'd like to know if this works.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:46, Reply)
Interesting.
It's when I wake up, usually, even if it's four in the morning and I just turn over and wake up slightly, all of a sudden there's stuff racing around my head then it's taken over by music. Then I can't clear my head and get back to sleep.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:49, Reply)
I'm afraid to say, Monty is right
do something creative and it'll calm it down a bit
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:51, Reply)
We'll see I reckon, I desperately want to get rid of it cos I can't sleep in any more.
In fact this is the worse I've slept in a long long time.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:54, Reply)
I've got a gizmo that has my radio plugged into it
When I wake up I press the button and it gives me 40 minutes of radio 4 and then goes off. I'm always asleep again within 5 minutes.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:52, Reply)
When I cannot sleep due to work stress mixed with MDs
I have found getting up and writing a to-do list immensely helpful. Then I can get back to writing pointless and endlessly-repeated riffs...
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:54, Reply)
I've done that a few times, write that shit down and get it out of your head.
But once I've found the coordination to find my glasses, turn on a light, get a pen and pad together and actually write something, I'm awake.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:55, Reply)
Ah, well you see, my problem
is that I am more awake than one could believe possible already, so even if I did wear glasses this couldn't make things any worse...
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:59, Reply)
Yeah monty just scrawls it in shit and tears all over his sheets in the dark
whilst sobbing.
