Joey wants a biscuit.
Do you? If not, what do you want? If so, what else do you want?

My new hi hats to arrive 'cause my old ones won't fit on the new stand.
It feels wrong using the old stand with my new kit.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:27, Reply)
I didn't know you were a drummer.
I thought you played the oboe, a pink one.

Sounds like a very unpopular one man band.

(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:30, Reply)
Not when he's in Norwich.
There's this awful bloke with ridiculous hair who stands there chucking coins at him all day long.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:33, Reply)

not to have just had to pay £80
for paying my car tax late due to spiteful ex husband.

Also, sleep
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:30, Reply)
That's rough.
I paid mine almost a year late. I told them it was off the road, and they let me off the surcharge.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:32, Reply)
mine was only a couple of months
was pretty sure I'd paid it, but either an online thing hadn't worked or I did forget (which would be since I got no reminder as The Idiot didn't forward my post due to a comment I made)
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:34, Reply)
Just have to take it on the chin then.

(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:36, Reply)
just did
they sent a scary letter by a debt company not saying what it was about, only that it referred to the house I lived at when I was married. Was proper worried, but I can manage without £80
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:38, Reply)
They are bastards.
Best to pay up and avoid the visits they make, and charge you for, when you are not in.

(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:37, Reply)
You should do some work in the day as opposed to pissing around on b3ta then
As my post count has fallen my commision has risen. INSTAWIN
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:39, Reply)
that has nothing to do with it
while I'm on secondment I can't do any of my proper work, but the amount of proper work I have hasn't really reduced, so I am left to do it in the evenings and at weekends.

hopefully this will be the last week of having too much work though.

It's a long-term thing, I can't concentrate and every time I wake up I have melodies or beats running through my head.
I say long-term, the past couple of months it's been back after a long absence.

Why would anyone want to join a band that only gets to play in their local pub because their drummer's dad is a manager of the local leasure centre and the landlord wants them to have their christmas party there?

(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:54, Reply)
Their drummer's dad?
Dave Brock of Hawkwind is 72: I would imagine his dad is manager of the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:57, Reply)
Please tell me you looked up his age.
I don't even know exactly how old my Flatmate is, and it was her birthday a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if this says more about you or me.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 18:05, Reply)
I did not look it up - actually he might be 73 now.

How was the Sushi do?
Sorry we couldn't come.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:58, Reply)
Total AWESOME, sushi rocks.
Yesterday I found an american resturant not far from that does foot long hotdogs and the most amazing stunning shockingly good bluecheese sauce I have ever had the delight to behold. And their ribs, although arne't hte best in the planet, are fucking good.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 18:07, Reply)
That sounds good.
There's a newish American bar just up from mine in which I bought the best burrito I've had this side of the Atlantic yesterday. Interesting beers too, though I know that's not your scene.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 18:14, Reply)
The beers I can take-or-leave, but the burritos sound awesome.
Man, I'm really hungry now, and I'm working well late every day this week.

I should have had a proper lunch =(

Are they/we left-handed (I am)?

(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:47, Reply)
no necessarily, but it's more likely
I'm right handed, but not very - I do some things left handed. If I'm honest I'm more cackhanded and clumsy

It's form of this new popular music
that they've been talking about for ooooh, the last forty or fifty years.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:50, Reply)

modern music Sir, Black eyed Peas Sir, very sorry Sir
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:50, Reply)
They are a very sorry bunch indeed.

(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:54, Reply)
That's me when I'm trying to sleep.
I'm afraid I have no cure for this.

Sing them into a dictaphone and transcribe them later? Perhaps 'dealing with' your frustrated creativity will lay it to rest for a bit? I'd like to know if this works.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:46, Reply)
Interesting.
It's when I wake up, usually, even if it's four in the morning and I just turn over and wake up slightly, all of a sudden there's stuff racing around my head then it's taken over by music. Then I can't clear my head and get back to sleep.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:49, Reply)
I'm afraid to say, Monty is right
do something creative and it'll calm it down a bit
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:51, Reply)
We'll see I reckon, I desperately want to get rid of it cos I can't sleep in any more.
In fact this is the worse I've slept in a long long time.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:54, Reply)
I've got a gizmo that has my radio plugged into it
When I wake up I press the button and it gives me 40 minutes of radio 4 and then goes off. I'm always asleep again within 5 minutes.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:52, Reply)
When I cannot sleep due to work stress mixed with MDs
I have found getting up and writing a to-do list immensely helpful. Then I can get back to writing pointless and endlessly-repeated riffs...
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:54, Reply)
I've done that a few times, write that shit down and get it out of your head.
But once I've found the coordination to find my glasses, turn on a light, get a pen and pad together and actually write something, I'm awake.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:55, Reply)
Ah, well you see, my problem
is that I am more awake than one could believe possible already, so even if I did wear glasses this couldn't make things any worse...
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 17:59, Reply)
Yeah monty just scrawls it in shit and tears all over his sheets in the dark
whilst sobbing.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 18:00, Reply)
OK, so what's my excuse for
not going to orchestra practise? I have half an hour to convince myself to go
edit: unless this cup of tea does miracles, I'm not going back outside, screw it. They'd only notice i've not practised
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 18:03, Reply)
I want a reply to this text I've sent
failing that, a biscuit would suffice. Chocolate digestive, for preference.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 18:07, Reply)
Money please

(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 18:08, Reply)
These would also be good.

(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 18:11, Reply)
I cannot help with the former
although you should try smoking hashish as a natural sedative. NB NOT strong weed.
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 18:14, Reply)
We have a foreign student staying with us
who continually smokes weed. She literally has a spliff every couple of hours. Makes it hard to talk to her
(, Mon 4 Apr 2011, 19:16, Reply)
When I was a student
I used to smoke hashish through a glass milk bottle, using Victorian hair curling tongs and a blowtorch. People were shit-scared of me.

A good hard slap on the arse
Preferably with a wet hand.

There are of course other things that I want, but that is what I want at the moment.

That is all.
