I checked the weekend before
and I think I'll just have to accept that it will cost about £90 return as I'm travelling up on the friday night.

Bummer.
Can you not get the day off, or a half day, and get an earlier train? We're getting a Friday lunchtime train down in July and it's only costing us about £15 each.
