I was so keen to have it that I wouldn't have cared

How's the running going?

(, Wed 4 May 2011, 10:16, Reply)
Been on gardening duty at the moment
Building brick walls and shifting patios so not much running. However, work have just given me a free iPhone 3GS, hence the running app.

The app is awesome
Gives you breakdowns of average speed, calorie count etc and little voice alerts through your headphones when you pass a mile (or whatever you set it to) so you can keep track of your time and average speed. And it provides you with a little map of your route so you can prove to Mrs Cow that you were actually running, and not philandering.

I've got it on my Blackberry
I don't think it works as well on the Blackberry, but it's good enough for what I want.
(, Wed 4 May 2011, 10:35, Reply)
Ooh I hadn't thought of that
I'm downloading an app for my Palm now.

smartrunner
there wasn't much point when I was running on the treadmill but now the weather's nice I'm running outdoors a lot.

I can't imagine anything more dispriting
than getting off the treadmill only for your phone to tell you that you haven't moved a damn inch
