I just sold my laptop because we are flat broke
In 5 months I have gone from owning 5 computers to owning none. Now I don't own a computer what on earth shall I do with my life?

alt. Do you think that in this day an age you could manage without a home computer?

Gutted
Back to looking in hedgerows for a well thumbed copy of razzle

No but only because I'm obsessed with checking out the weather forecast each day.

I probably could, but I wouldn't like it.
I'd get a shitload more work done around the house though.

Considering it's how I make my living
No. No, I couldn't.

but only just.

I rarely use a PC at home so yes
Our home PC is 8 years old but we do have a laptop that Mrs Cow uses. I find I can do 99% of stuff on my iPhone now

No.
Find a old broken machine and install Linux on it. I have an old 256MB machine that runs xubuntu (slowly though).

I honestly don't think I could.
Given that high speed home broadband's only been around for, what, ten years? Fifteen? It's extraordinary how quickly we've become totally dependant on it.

My PC's plugged into my TV, so it's my film library as well as game machine and web browser. It was also, up until recently, my music library and photo album. It's superceded a lot of stuff.

This.
Without broadband my life would be terrible. I could just about scrape by with 56k but it would be like loosing a limb.

I'd struggle.
it has all my music on it, the stuff I watch, surf reports, shopping, the list goes on.

yeah probably
Although it would make finding obscure books more difficult as the internet is fab for that. I don't use my computer much outsde of work time, apart from watching TV. But I could probably live without TV. Nothing good on nowadays anyway
