Nah, it'd need to read Ronnie Soak the Dairyman.

He's not FreeFair
In other news, I don't get it. Proving that I must have had full sex with a woman

it's a character from a Pratchett book
can't remember which one. 5th horseman of the apocalypse, became a milkman

Cheers mate
Haven't read much Pratchett.

the early stuff is much as Monty says
the later stuff is actually very good.

I'm told you can pick it up from anywhere
But I have massive OCD about starting from the top
(, Fri 17 Jun 2011, 16:11, Reply)
they aren't all in order
and on rereading them I found the first few kind of painful to read in a Simpson's tie kind of way.

If you were actually keen to read them I could give you a suggested order that would take you through early stuff to the newest following one set of characters
(, Fri 17 Jun 2011, 16:14, Reply)
Nah, 'cause some of them appear in each others stories, like when the witches and wizards end up in the same story

(, Fri 17 Jun 2011, 16:15, Reply)
was thinking mainly about the guards ones
in my view the best books are the later guards ones

if he likes them he'll be more likely to read through some of the earlier stuff which fleshes out the other characters a bit more.

I'd actually really like that, cheers mate
If this list could include all the ones Ms Foxtrot has so I don't have to buy any or pay the fine the library claims I owe them, all the better

I've just found something online which unfortunately proves the massive geekiness point
but is useful for this purpose

www.lspace.org/books/reading-order-guides/the-discworld-reading-order-guide-20.jpg

the ones I was on about are the ones starting by the arrow with Watch Novels.

Wicked, thank you mate
I've actually been wanting to work this out for quite a while.

Am off now - have a crackin' weekend everyone.
(, Fri 17 Jun 2011, 16:23, Reply)
no worries
have a good one
(, Fri 17 Jun 2011, 16:24, Reply)
He's quoting from a Pratchett book
I can't remember which one.
(, Fri 17 Jun 2011, 16:07, Reply)
Ironically this totally buggers my whole "not a virgin" thing
As Ms Foxtrot fucking loves Pratchett
(, Fri 17 Jun 2011, 16:08, Reply)
Thief of Time.
I worry myself sometimes about the near-encyclopaedic knowledge I have of all things completely geeky.

Can't help but think something went wrong somewhere.
(, Fri 17 Jun 2011, 16:11, Reply)
Nowt wrong with being a massive geek mate
You are definitely a virgin though
(, Fri 17 Jun 2011, 16:15, Reply)
Nah
I just keep the Pratchett thing to my Kindle so I don't look so geeky.

When I start talking is the problem though.
(, Fri 17 Jun 2011, 16:17, Reply)
Apologies, I was clearly in the wrong
You've got a Kindle. You must be beating off supermodel fanny with a shitty stick.
(, Fri 17 Jun 2011, 16:20, Reply)
I can only wish.
