Excellent answer
If it's any consolation, the first time I went to Glastonbury I was treated to the worst live performance I have ever witnessed, by headliners The White Stripes. As a rule of thumb, you can look bored and be completely unwilling to engage your audience if, and only if, you're the absolute best band in the history of ever.

Which The White fucking Stripes are categorically not.

They're fucking shite.

Yes they are
and Ms Foxtrot made me leave a Chemical Brothers DJ set to see them.

Coldplay headlined the next night. The Stripes made them look like Faith No More by comparison.

I just don't understand why everyone fawns over Jack White
I'm only aware of two songs he's involved with that I enjoy listening to, which are 'Steady As She Goes', and 'Danger, High Voltage!'

Muscial purists like Monty admire his old-fashioned approach to production and musicianship, I believe
Being ignorant of such things I'm more concerned with the abject lack of decent songs to his name

Shame he's shit.

Coldplay?
You poor sod. I can't think of anything more anodyne and pointless, save for Simon Cowell's musical stable.

Oasis
This is my stock response to any question relating to musical crapness.

More specifically, Travis are even more dull and grey than Coldplay

What year was this?

(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 10:56, Reply)
2005
Went in 2007 as well and The Killers were headlining, and had a brave stab at being almost as dull. This is probably due to the fact that they only have two songs (both of which were written by Duran Duran), something which can't be disguised in a live setting.

I think the Communards were '83 or '84.
Something like that.

I saw The Killers back in 2009
At the V Festival. They sounded exactly the same live, which can't be a good thing.

That was the same festival where I was turned into an inadvertant dogger when I saw two people shagging in the open boot of their car. The man was buck-naked, save for a pink tutu. Images like that tend to stay with a man.

Yeah, I remember thinking that they may as well have stuck a CD on
The Killers, not your dogging couple

Come to think of it, I bet they did.
And just mimed on stage. Not a single ounce of creativity.

Watching the Ting Tings was more fun.

The same year I went, by the sound of it
they really were absolutely fucking terrible.

I like the White Stripes
didn't at first but picked up their back catalogue and enjoyed a lot of it. Meg can't drum though, well she can but it's very dull.
