Pretty much the same
and also looking forward to having some free time courtesy of my impending redundancy. I need some careers advice.

Let's start a business

(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 20:47, Reply)
What do you suggest?

(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 20:47, Reply)
Crime fighters

(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 20:48, Reply)
I dunno, I'm a bit out of shape.
Spandex wouldn't suit me at the moment.
(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 20:54, Reply)
What about nice baggy kecks

(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 20:57, Reply)
But then I wouldn't be all streamlined and shit.
Can we not just nick stuff instead?
(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 20:58, Reply)
I can't.
Despite my heritage, I really can't.
(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 21:01, Reply)
YOU'RE NO FUN ANYMORE GARY!

(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 21:03, Reply)
I'd get us caught.
Me and my mum go faint when people nick.

Well the Self Employment route
Is terrifying. I've picked up some work but it's hard.

It's a blast though - I've not worked my mind or my personality so hard in years.
(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 20:50, Reply)
I'd thought about that
but the current domestic situation is not the perfect environment or mental place to be trying to do this, unfortunately.
(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 20:54, Reply)
I'm enjoying it
It's not paying the bills but I've only been trading for 21 days.

It's seat of yer pants stuff at the moment - I'm not a charming person but I've got to try and be.

Oddly I'm actually loving the selling bit.

I've been self-employed for nine years.
I don't make a living, but then again, I only put in about 16-20 hours a week. Basically I make enough that I don't need to work in a boring, soul-sucking job.
(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 21:26, Reply)
What do you do, b3th?

(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 21:32, Reply)
I sell crap on eBay
The only downside is that my house full of assorted detritus. And packing materials. And jiffy bags.
(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 21:42, Reply)
What sort of shite do you sell on ebay?

(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 21:43, Reply)
all sorts of shit

(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 21:50, Reply)
Old comics and random bits of electrical equipment.

(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 21:52, Reply)
also old toys, ornaments and cosmetics
and any other old shite I can find.
(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 21:53, Reply)
Where do you get your stock from?

(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 21:55, Reply)
Roota, innit?

(, Tue 21 Jun 2011, 22:06, Reply)
I do a tad of ebay trading myself.
Primarily model railway stuff because I know the market.

If I could make it into my main business I would, but there's too many people out there now.

Bedtime for me.
