I'm back from the pub
I have a sense of deep foreboding that the pub closest to me (discounting The Victoria) is a real ale pub with half a dozen truly excellent guest beers. For the philistines there's also Peroni and Stella Artois Black on draught, and for the ladies Aspalls and Scrumpy cider.

I'm a little drunk on fine India Pale Ales.

Speedy!
Sounds like a nice pub, what were the food options?
(, Sun 26 Jun 2011, 16:33, Reply)
Standard pub sunday
roast beef, roast chicken, roast nut. I had the chicken, it was very good but not great but then it's a pub, innit. I had Lamb Shank pie there last week, that was good.

I need to keep saying the food's not all that or I'm going to be in there all the fucking time...

How much do they want for a roast dinner.
And what variety of veg did you get?
(, Sun 26 Jun 2011, 16:55, Reply)
£8 for the chicken, £10 for the beef
I got roast parsnips, carrots, broccoli, roast potatoes, a little stuffing ball and a mini Yorkshire pudding. Not quite enough gravy for my tastes either.

I'm quite partial to a bit of roast lamb myself.

Me too
sadly it's not often a pub Sunday roast option.

No, but then if the pub you use are charging more for beef than they are for chicken
You'd like to think that there would be a price point for lamb as well.

Stella Black?
That's a new one.

Although I'd feel wrong drinking Stella in a proper ale pub.

Google it
There's also Pilsner Urquell and Suffolk Blond. It's an absurdly good selection for a city pub.
