I'm gutted I missed that

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 8:38, 1 reply, 15 years ago)
It was a surprise birthday present from Miss Beekers
I had no idea they were playing 'til she handed me the ticket.
I missed Potiche last week at my local cinema. Had something else planned every night it was on. I'll have to wait for the DVD now.

Awww,
I did that with a Puressence ticket and signed CD for dj.
Nice when a surprise is a surprise.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 8:43, Reply)
I like surprises.
My birthday cake for my 30th was one of the best surprises I've had.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 8:44, Reply)
I wish that cake was mine.

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 8:45, Reply)
It was an excellent cake

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 8:55, Reply)
Yeah, it is.
She got me a t-shirt with Totoro on it as well. She's very ace.

Horray for Clutch references!
I saw them a couple of weeks back, awesome as always.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 8:56, Reply)
Bloody norah! Hello!
A Clutch reference is always the way forward.

Hey buddy,
How's the house buying going?
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 9:01, Reply)
Slowly.
Kinda assuming that no news is good news. I'm sure if there was some horrible error, the bank'd've shouted by now.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 9:03, Reply)
Or they're stringing me along, like the bunch of cunts they are.

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 9:04, Reply)
It's more likely that one or more people involved in the whole situation (bank, solicitor, other vendor)
is a disorganised twat and forgot something.

That pretty much always happens, don't sweat it.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 9:07, Reply)
Yeah,
I'm just waiting really. No hassle either way, worst case is it all falls through, and I've paid a bit of money out to survey-stuff. That happens, I'll just start looking again.
Anyway, best be off, time to go work.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 9:09, Reply)
usually solicitor
they are all useless cunts.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 9:25, Reply)
I'm glad my sister did my convayencing.
She kicked everyones arses so it went as smoothly as these things can.

when we bought ours was fine, but the one working for the guy buying our flat was fucking useless
she'd set deadlines for stuff, everyone else would be ready and then on that day she just wouldn't be in her office, and not even her assistant knew where she was.

Our flat was built on an old brickyard as well, and for some reason she decided she needed to see the planning permission for when it was turned into a brickyard in 1934...
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 9:29, Reply)
I'd have been more concerned that it was built on a load of shit that they chucked in the ground after the brickyard closed.

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 9:30, Reply)
it's fine
I looked through the remediation report and it's mostly inert and stuff. They built the play area on the bit that was dodgy.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 9:33, Reply)
Was this produced by an independant investigation
or was this the report provided by the landfill operator?
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 9:39, Reply)
it was independent as far as I recall
it was some years ago now.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 9:44, Reply)
As long as it's only the children that'll fall into a sinkhole.
Sure it'll look a mess, but at least it'll have an upside.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 9:47, Reply)
It's you.
