get one
I love mine. or I will once the fucker stops itching.

this is going to seem pretty gay, but I think Lab's sleeve is one of the coolest I've ever seen.

don't worry about the threadstomp. There's nothing wrong with having more than one thread on the go at a time. People are just wankers about it.

I'll see if I can find a pic of Lab's sleeve
I'm not going to get something that big for £200 though or for a 1st tat.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:35, Reply)
mine cost me about £70
which I thought was reasonable

The missus got some new ink yesterday.

what is it?

(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:38, Reply)
A Greek word on each wrist.
She's put a pic up on Faecebook.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:40, Reply)
lovely

(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:41, Reply)
I still remain unconvinced about getting one myself, though.
Despite her best efforts.

Oh, I know what I'd have done if I did get one.
I'm just not convinced it would be a good idea to get one.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:46, Reply)
I've said it before and I'll say it again
Doesn't it, like, really hurt? Surely that is reason enough for not getting one?
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:53, Reply)
it's not that bad
and mine is on my chest which apparently is fairly painful.

anyway, a little bit of pain never hurt anyone
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:55, Reply)
Depends on where it is.
On the wrists absolutely knacks, according to the missus.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 14:06, Reply)
This is true.
I guess because it is a delicate area.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 14:17, Reply)
It took a long time for me to find the right thing
I'm well pleased now I have it though.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:45, Reply)
Thanks for the compliment Vipros!
Here's a pic of my sleeve just after it was finished.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:42, Reply)
Very nice
is it Polynesian or Maori or something?
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:46, Reply)
Belgian

(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:48, Reply)
Thanks
The tattoo is mostly Polynesian, with some Maori elements.
The artist is Belgian, Dan DiMattia at Calypso Tattoo.

(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:58, Reply)
Nope, I'm keeping all of mine black

(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 14:18, Reply)
Needs moar negative space.

(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 14:32, Reply)
nice,
I like having a bit of colour, most of mine are three tone, including skin.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 14:33, Reply)
Most charge by the hour so you could get 2.5 hours of work done then finish it when you have more cash.
I have spent 600 in the past couple of weeks and still have more to do.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:57, Reply)
My new one is being done tomorrow.
It's been 15 years, I've forgotten what it feels like.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:51, Reply)
Having never had one
I would imagine that it is like having needles poked into your skin. No?
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:54, Reply)
it is exactly like that

(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:55, Reply)
not at all, really.
tattoo guns have multiple needles and they hit the skin too close together for nerve endings to differentiate individual hits, so it's quite an odd sensation.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:55, Reply)
it feels like being poked repeatedly with loads of needles
mine was less than two weeks ago, I remember it clearly
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:57, Reply)
It's not too bad though is it.

(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:58, Reply)
I'll tell you for sure tomorrow afternoon
but I'm pretty sure I remember not being able to distinguish individual needle hits at all.

Either I've got less dense nerve endings or you, sir, are a huge great Mary.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 13:59, Reply)
I'm not saying it hurt
but that it did feel like needles. Not individually, but a pointy buzzing as if someone was running a tiny sewing machine over you.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 14:04, Reply)
Yeah
You're not really selling the idea to me.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 14:00, Reply)
It's a burny scratchy feeling.
But bearable.
(, Thu 21 Jul 2011, 14:03, Reply)
I actually quite enjoyed it
