The reports given to the police about extremism within the mosque will come from the same sources as information on EDL violence; informers and spies.
As regards the violence in the Middle East reaching the UK, that's entirely unlikely. There is absolutely no terrorist organisation on the planet capable of inflicting the scale of violence used on a daily basis by the armies currently fighting over there.

Now the EDL do not, and cannot represent the "working class." All they can do, and do, is represent a point of view that is shared by some members of all classes in England.

For all my complaints about the UK, and there are many, I am always happy to say that it is, on the island of Britain, a safe and healthy democratic society. In this context it is important to allow the EDL to protest legally, and for decent people to show up, and do their civic duty of kicking the living shit out every EDL scumbag they can lay their boots on.

Yeah', that's what I mean, about spies and informers... they'll always be people in the group who think others have gone to far, or want to jump up the ladder themselves so stab people in teh back.
Oh'aye, totally agree about the scale of voilance in the middle east, what I mean is, a phsyical attack happening.

There'll be people who are involved, but opposed to full blown terrorism, and there will be undercover cops. Both are good.
And yes, your freedom to say this is one of the best things about your country. The better thing about your country is that most people will agree with you.
