how can you sleep for 11 hours in a row?
I struggle with 7 or 8.
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 11:39, 1 reply, 15 years ago)
I was tired.

(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 11:45, Reply)
I do that on a normal night if I'm lucky.
Don't you have a thyroid thingy though?
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:01, Reply)
I do have a thyroid thingy!

(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:03, Reply)
Sorry, you know what I mean.
I just seem to recall you saying you have something wrong with your thyroid.
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:10, Reply)
Yeah, I've got hyperthyroidism.

(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:11, Reply)
how come they let yours stay fast?

(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:11, Reply)
Err... Because I'm awesome.
I've had various drugs to control things, but they are reluctant go down the radioactive iodine route at this point because of the potential damage it could do to my eyes.
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:14, Reply)
ah, they did the drugs on me
for a little while. When I stopped it went faster again and they were like "QUICK! To the radioactive room!"
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:16, Reply)
I should be on these pills for the next 12 months and from there they'll reassess things.

(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:26, Reply)
I just learned all about that last week.
Sounds like fun...
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:11, Reply)
I have hyperPARAthyroidism!

(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:17, Reply)
Oh you sound so excited about that.

(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:18, Reply)
It's like I'm nearly in the same club as Jeff!

(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:19, Reply)
If I've learned one thing in the first two semesters of uni,
It's that the body is SHIT at looking after itself if one little enzyme goes wrong.
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:21, Reply)
I have Hypothyroidism
I think that makes me in the rival gang

(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:22, Reply)
I wonder if I should get tested..
I've always had vitamin D deficiency. *hypochondriacs*
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:23, Reply)
It affects a lot of stuff...
Since I've been taking the meds my digestive system has already improved. I'm still sleepy and grumpy but I'm only halfway through the course. Soon I hope to be Dopey or Doc.
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:27, Reply)
What tablets are you on?

(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:28, Reply)
Colecalciferol.
D3 I think. If it doesn't work then they'll scan my parathyroids to see if they're overgrown or have lil tumours.
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:34, Reply)
I know it does... I really do sympathise.
I think it's part of this course - every time I hear of a new disease I mentally think of the symptoms and which ones I have or have had. :P
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:30, Reply)
I shouldn't be allowed near medical dictionaries for the same reason.

(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:34, Reply)
Haha, you should see the size of the one I have..
it's over 1500 A4 sized pages full of a hypochondriac's wet dream.
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:37, Reply)
I'm currently munching my way thought 8 Propylthiouracii a day.

when mine was fast
I barely slept at all! I could only sit down for any length of time if I forced myself to do something that required concentration. I did cross stitch. It was that bad
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 12:11, Reply)
The pills I'm on now are doing a lot to help.
About 6 months ago I was hardly sleeping at all.
