Some 'entirely innocent' criminal was shot dead by the police.
The locals up there love a riot and thus immediately had one. I love the way the the fact that the 'victim' was a father of four is regarded as in some way relevant. Yes, because a man who has had sex several times must clearly not be fucking crook, eh?

ah, that was the cause, not something that happened during.
I know what you mean about the irrelevant comment, that sort of shit happens all the time.

I thought it was particularly nice that they not only looted businesses and shops
but peoples homes.

They're outraged about the perversion of justice by the EVIL POLICE, YEAH?

(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:17, Reply)
You're right, killing someone could well be considered a bit of a perversion of justice.

(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:19, Reply)
No it is no excuse to destroy local people's businesses and homes

I didn't say it was.
In fact I said the complete opposite.
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:22, Reply)
Well that's ok then
With regards to whether the shot guy was scum or not I guess will come out in time. Personally I think if he was carrying a gun then he should expect to get shot at.

There's a charming picture of him in circulation
dripping with LEGITIMATELY EARNED thousands of pounds' worth of gold jewellery, making a pistol gesture. BUT HE HAD FOUR KIDS.

It would be funny if you died

Actually, I can't be bothered to make the point I was going to make, I'll just leave it at that.
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:34, Reply)
I would be only marginally distressed were this to happen.

(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:36, Reply)
Unless they were armed and waving a gun about.
Which I'll bet this fellow was. In which case unlucky, you got shot.
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:21, Reply)
didn't he have a "street name"
starrish, or something? anyone who has a "street name" is generally up to no good, surely!
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:39, Reply)
if the police had just let them get on with it none of this would have happened

the poor bastard whose post office/livelihood has been torched said
"they've just burned down the place where they collect their benefits cheques. they have literally bitten the hand that feeds them."

how is it helping the memory of anyone, however they died, to rob and loot shops like comet and pc world and burn down a carpetright? oh look, the police walk on carpets and have televisions, let's smash them then, and forget the fact that the people who work in those shops have some of the few jobs that are actually going in this neighbourhood, or that people live in flats above the shops and might die...
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:32, Reply)
Since you appear not to know that answer to the question you posed,
the answer is that it doesn't. The looting is just opportunistic criminality by a bunch of scummers.

Definition for rhetorical question:
"a statement that is formulated as a question but that is not supposed to be answered"
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:41, Reply)
It's also a tool used by The Daily Mail to imply things that anyone with a brain knows aren't true
but that stupid people assume must be true because it's in the paper.
