Well I think if you're on the light side of the moon
it's always a full earth, because that side always faces the earth because it's tidaly locked. HMMMmmm

this making it dark, and not possible to see the earth from the moon

I'm not 100% sure on this, hence the question mark in my original post

edit: my post wasn't disputing that the same side of the moon is always facing Earth. I know that's true

I just googled earth from the moon
and looked at images, it appeared to have phases in the pics. I don't really know for sure.
