Well, I lost you with a Pratchet reference earlier....

Not everyone has read Pratchett
And there are 40-odd books (to my knowledge - I've only read two and a half, and one of them wasn't very good).

Everyone has seen Star Wars.

EVERYONE.

I can think of one person that hasn't.
I'm pretty sure she hasn't, anyway.

Pratchett=gash.

I actually know a few who claim not to have seen it
I wouldn't consider them "people", however. Ms Foxtrot's nephew gets out on the technicality of being 3.

there's a difference between having seen it
and knowing it well enough to get the "that's no moon..." reference. I also suspect you read the wrong two books, was it rincewind?
(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 16:01, Reply)
Spot on
The Colour of Magic was sporadically funny but seemed to have been written very much on the hoof, The Light Fantastic was better but still not amazing. Mort is proving good value so far though.

I can't be bothered with the rincewind books.
I like The Watch, Death and The witches in roughly that order, especially the later watch stuff when the characters flesh out some, Guards Guards is not that great

I decided I'd see what all the fuss was about
but am determined to work through them in a roughly chronological order, regardless of protestations about how you don't really need to.

well, it's up to you.
but he definitely got better later, so you'll have to plow through some less good stuff first.

It's just a quirk I have with anything of this nature
I can't pick things up halfway through.

enjoy your OCD.
I'm bored.

This post contain lies.
I've read all the Discworld books, though not every single Pratchett book, and every one I've read has had me laughing out loud.
(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 16:03, Reply)
yeah, but you're dull innit.

(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 16:04, Reply)
This is true.

(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 16:04, Reply)
you probably have dull breasts too.

(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 16:06, Reply)
