I always get artichokes and anchovies mixed up
anchovies are nice in moderation, but I've never had an artichoke. Aren't they the big things that you need to get rid of 90% of it before you get to the edible bit?

looks like kevlar

No, well, yes and no, there the big green things that most people don't actually know how to to eat.
How you should eat them, or at least, how I find them most enjoyable, is to boil up the head until you can pick an outter leaf off easerly. Get a big bowl of mayo/aloli. You then pick off a leef and hold it by the tip, then dip the base of the leef in the mayo, just a smidgin, and put it in your mouth [the inside side of the leef against the bottom teeth, so your scrape out the white stuff]... then when you get to the end or you get bored, you take out the 'choke' with a spoon, spread mayo over the top of it, and enjoy (that's the best bit).

Most people eat them raw and only eat the heart, which is a real waste of time.
