Oh FFSOK, my point is that half the people there have no legal right to be there and they have built a community in the full knowledge of this. They are now crying it's unfair to split up that community. Well fuck that, they should have built it legally.
There are many places in and around the area where there are legal sites for travellers. They have been offered options that they have refused to take, so it's reached where it is now.
I have no problem with them as people, and I've already said that actually, one of their legal options would be nearer to where I live than where they currently are and I would still be happy for them to settle there. (so I am not sure where Rory got his NIMBY claim from).
It's not like Laindon/Wickford/Pitsea are full of upright members of the community themselves but they do at least by and large live where they are legally entitled to, and I'm certainly not judging the travelling community as being 'scum' or worth less than any body else. They just should not be where they are under the current law and have always known this, so I'm not about to get all pussy liberal in their defence.
but to leap from that viewpoint to a 'what about the jews' is a whiny, ill thought out knee jerk reaction that isn't really worth the time I have just spent responding to.

Just so you know how this place works, when you get a thread, the reply to it is the one under it and a bit nudged on to the right.I was replying to the comment "everyone knows they are thieving gits/cowboy builders/land thieves/tax dodgers etc etc." that a lot of people here actually believe.
