I find it's a good tool for oganising and keeping in touch with people who you do want to keep in touch with...... and that there is no problem with blocking people who you don't want to get involved.
Besides, without a facebook, how do you expect me to letch over your photos and determind your 'relationship status' ?

You can set your account settings so that no one can find you, or just friends, or friends of friends, etc.There are different levels of protection.
