I've also been doing some work on the employment front, there is every change the contract I'm working on will come to an end around Christmas time, if not sooner, so I've been updating my C.V accordingly and speaking to a few agencies.
How much more work have you got to do on your application?

Just the spiel on how my experience makes me the ideal candidate for the job, and some examples of how I meet their seven key values. I've done three, but they've stipulated no more than fifty words per value, which isn't a lot. So I'm trying to think of stuff that can be easily articulated without having to go into a lot of background detail.
Hope you make progress.

saved by Christmas to jump on a plane and go away for a month or two, so a bit of planning is in order.
What sort of values are they looking for answer on?

Openness, respect, integrity, innovation, reliability and motivation. I can answer them, but fifty words is a bit tight.

But on the plus side, any job that provides a challenging application process will get fewer applicants for it. Most people will just post their C.V online and then wait and see what happens.

but none have had such a restrictive word count. Still, it's an online form that can be saved, and I've got all week to do it but I'd like to have it out of the way by Wednesday at the latest.
