I once had my mates around and I feel asleep on the couch, when I woke up, I said I dreamed up some wicked lyrics to a new song....... "I ain't sayin' she's a gold digger, but I don't see with no broke nigger".
Turns out, they had been playing the song while I was asleep, but I was convinced I made it up.

I used to do that all the time in my song-writing daysCome up with a great line, only to realise that someone else had written it. I was never a great lyricist and this made me sad.
