Why does my fucking central heating keep going off??

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:38, 4 replies, latest was 14 years ago)
Because you've forgotten to fiddle the 'leccy, lar.

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:39, Reply)
You need to put a 50p in the meter.
What kind of scouser are you?
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:39, Reply)
coz it's nearly winter, innit?
It's all cold and doesn't feel like doing any work.
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:39, Reply)
What a load of shit it is

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:40, Reply)
Yes, yes it is.
Time for big jumpers and blankies.
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:43, Reply)
I second the big jumpers comment

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:45, Reply)
it's still not too bad herecoz lahndin is warm, innit?
but I shall enjoy my jumpers soon.
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:48, Reply)
I think I'm quite inured to the cold
Apart from the feet obviously
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:49, Reply)
How are the tootsies today?

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:50, Reply)
Hah
they really hurt this morning, completely ice cold despite about three pairs of socks. But not bad now thanks, curled up under a duvet on the sofa. How are you?
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:53, Reply)
Not bad.
Feeling better and enjoying unexpected relaxing time and The Blues Brothers on TV.

I'm pretty cold-tollerant, probably the scotts blood.
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 23:01, Reply)
That sounds rather nice

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 23:12, Reply)
It is.
I got 2 free unexpected sofa-hours tonight. I feel a million miles better for it, especially after a shit work day. unless you mean the scotts blood, in which case, fuck off you vampire, it's all mine.
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 23:15, Reply)
Why unexpected?
And you can keep your blood, even though a REAL communist would share it
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 23:21, Reply)
alright Amberl?
I am listening to Low. Then I am going to bed.
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 23:22, Reply)
Enjoying?

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 23:34, Reply)
Of course.
I love Low.

I now have Galaxie 500 on.
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 23:44, Reply)
Shhh! Don't tell any one about my weakness!
I was supposed to look after my son tonight, but my ex didn't go to uni because they are off on holiday tomorrow, so I got to go over and have dinner with them but leave at half 7 instead of 2 hours later.

Is it the boiler? Is the pilot still on?
Could be an air bubble in the pipes then. Or, as we had today, a ducked relay in the thermostat.
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:41, Reply)
There's no pilot as such. Just a green light.
Keeps going off. Sometimes it lasts 10 mins, sometimes 2 hours, sometimes all night. It willnot, however, be relied upon. It refuses.
Coming home to no heating despite using the timer is a cacker innit.
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:43, Reply)
The one in my little flat used to go off overnight
So I'd wake up in the freezing cold with no hot water. 2 inch baths filled with the kettle is not a great way to get ready for work.
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:45, Reply)
ive got a timer and the fit gas bloke set it all up lovely
but it wont come on if the thermostat ent on. and if i put it on 25 and the room temp hits 25, it goes off. now im not saying this information will help you in any way but im going to bed anyway and the gas bloke was well fit
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:46, Reply)
Where's my thermofuckingstat :(

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:49, Reply)

in the hall?
or on the boiler usually.
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:51, Reply)
Wherever you turn your heating on and off.

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:53, Reply)
That is shit and set high but has no numbers on it

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:53, Reply)
It will still be some kind of thermostat. Or do you adjust the heat on your radiators?

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:55, Reply)
Ah both

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:56, Reply)
You may need to pop downstairs and ask the landlord.

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 22:59, Reply)
He hasn't a clue.
He likes to get shafted by cowboys instead. Figuratively.

(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 23:00, Reply)
lord knows but my timer and boiler are in the airing cupboard and the thermostat is in the living room
again this does not help you but you just need one of them fit gas blokes to sort you out. and im still going to bed
(, Wed 26 Oct 2011, 23:01, Reply)
Can you send me one? Ta.
Goodnight, love you, see you very soon.
