I'd say it's 'gid' on balance. I cycled to work for the first time in 5 weeks and while I'm out of practice I didn't die. On the down side I need a new back wheel chizz chizz.

Edit - actually, let's enter into a conversation that ailienates the rest of the board, for shits and giggles.
I need to be able to switch from slicks to off-roads on my bike. It's a fanny swapping tyres over so I thought I'd get a second set of wheels, but my brother reckons I'll have problems with uneven wear on the rear cassette and everything will jump. Thoughts? Also, I'd love to know where I can get good non-disc wheels with spacing that'll match a 1998 XT 8sp freehup/cassette made up for me.

It could be worse, I could have started on SCIENCE. Or ski design.

no idea if they all went at once of it's been a slow process. I know I could replace them an re-true the wheel but it's a dirty fidly job and I've never liked that wheel so I'd prefer to just chuck it and buy a new one.
You brother might have a point, but I'd say do it and see, I'm not the best person to ask as all my bikes are old and I view quick release wheels as a silly novelty.

someone nicked the original shimano and hope lightweight QRs out of my wheels and put some from a Halfords £50 bike in, instead. I didn't notice for about 2 months. I have to give them that.
