I was just listening to Nine Inch Nails and then Mos Def. How about some early DJ Shadow?

And have you got a job as a minibus driver or something now?

He's quite right
It's dead but I think there's lurkers who are scared of unfamiliar names, and people who won't post because someone else posted first.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 21:51, Reply)
Unfamiliar names?
Lurkers?

What the Dickens are you talking about man?
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 21:52, Reply)
He's talking nonsense.
Some of us something something, superiority complex, something something.
Have I missed much over the past ten days?
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:02, Reply)
Alright B69?
Why do my radiators whistle, and turning the thermostatic valves stops them for a bit?
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:05, Reply)
Indeed I are, cheers ;)
What was it BGB said? Trying not to appear suspicious? LOL
It's probably cavitation caused by zinc dissolving from the brass. Often happens when valves are almost completely shut and more than a few years old. That's not to say that age is the issue, could maybe be too high flow rate in the heating. Try turning the circulator speed down? Or balance the rads.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:10, Reply)
Turning the what now?
My boiler is ancient and there is only a heat dial. I know how to top up the boiler when the pressure dips, though where does the water go when that happens?

Balance the rads? You what?
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:15, Reply)
Central heating has a circulator (pump) to circulate the warm water round yer arse.
Circulator has 3 settings.
Too fast and it'll make noises.
You've got 2 valves on each rad, one at each end.
One is the TRV, opens and closes on demand.
Other is lock-shield valve, should be set by plumber to ensure equal flow through all rads.
Water is a lazy cunt and will find easiest route through system.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:23, Reply)
Not much.
I can't be empirical, but I expect you've not missed much.

Of course I'm talking nonsense. If I've not had a few drinks I'd not be on here. I'd be doing something more constructive.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:06, Reply)
Good answer.
How's the business going?
Edit: so what's my excuse? I'm totally sobre :(
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:11, Reply)
Here's a brick wall
I'd like you to run into it as fast as you can, repeatedly.

That's why I'm driving again.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:14, Reply)
Didn't know that mate :(
Soz and that.
Did that happen in the last ten days? If so, then that explains my ignorance.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:17, Reply)
I'll give you a ring sometime and explain
Not right now.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:21, Reply)
Nae bother mate.
As and when you fancy.

evening
I have been killing time with a nice simple little wargame on that there internet - played a sologame then actually ventured into multiplayer and joined a game in progress and kicked ass.

www.conquerorgame.com - I quite like the limited options, it doesn't require much thinking but still allows for a range of tactics. Two thumbs up!
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:03, Reply)
I used to play KingdomGame for a bit.

(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:06, Reply)
give it a try on single player
I got the hang of it fairly quickly. Apparently it was very busy a few years back, then there were flash problems where you could only play with an old version and most people left. Now it's fixed but hasn't really picked back up.

Perils of the internet I guess.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:13, Reply)
cocksocks!
I just filled my bath with cold water. I need to fix those bulbs in the bathroom
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:04, Reply)
lol
Having a crappy home is a downward spiral that leads to being too depressed by your surroundings to fix things so it gets worse so it gets more depressing... Pretty soon you'll stop inviting people over and start hoarding.

but it's OK, new house soon!
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:14, Reply)
You must talk to your pets
Or they're not your pets.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:17, Reply)
Yeah, if you don't talk to them they're just meat on legs.
Livestock.

I'm here.
Back from the pub and still wondering what "authentic sub-culture" I represent.

who's still up?
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:23, Reply)
I've never been called an "authentic sub-culture".
Been called plenty else ;)
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:28, Reply)
Me neither
Well, they were art student I suppose, torn between being flattered and just laughing.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:30, Reply)
Yeah, art students...
The best of all the students ;)
Bunch of wankers.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:37, Reply)
Yeah, but they might be fun to play with.
And I could be in an exhibition. not an opportunity to be sneezed at.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:40, Reply)
This is true. A win/win situation.
Back in '91(?) I agreed to model a costume for a theatre wardrobe and costumery student, ended up doing a routine at the end of year show. Got laid and pissed into the bargain ;)
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:46, Reply)
Now this sounds good
and some of those students were quite hot, but young, so young....
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:48, Reply)
Heh heh heh...
Didn't appreciate it fully then, oh the benefit of age/experience!
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:51, Reply)
Damn my scruples and morals!

If I could turn back time...
Christ, I would take whatever advantages I could!
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:56, Reply)
It's not the physical age.
I'm sure they are all legal at that, but what does a twenty something student know about shit? Oh well, all academic, probably all come to nothing, much less a drunken and debauched orgy of nubile flesh.....

Oh god.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:58, Reply)
If it's any consolation, their appalling taste in music and pseudy attempts at conversation would probably have been a total passion-killer.

(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 23:00, Reply)
Sadly this is probably true.
Damn I hate maturity.

What is a subculture? Everyone is a subculture. If you can form opinions, you're a subculture.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:28, Reply)
Well if I can form a sub culture of one...
otherwise this place is as close as I come to membership of any group.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:31, Reply)
Comrade - I've never met you
But I've met B69 and you both work along similar lines.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:38, Reply)
OK, not sure what to make of this, or how you come to this conclusion.
But I shall take it under advisement.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:42, Reply)
Seconded.
I'm frowning now...

So can we form a sub-culture of 2?
Wanna be in my gang?
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:49, Reply)
No, but I'll let you join mine, maybe....

(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:54, Reply)

Hullo person I don't really know yet.
I seem to remember it, more of a joke than anything, no? besides, don't do churches, atheism is too dogmatic for me.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:33, Reply)
hi
sorry, it was just the first thing that popped into my head, more from the 'sub' prefix than anything. I'm a bit confused as to what constitutes a sub-culture in the first place.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:51, Reply)
Me too, I'm sure it was all terribly important when I was younger.
but I don't give a shit anymore, maybe that's what makes me authentic. *snort*
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:55, Reply)
Ever played Illuminati?
Heavily influenced by Bob Dobbs et al. Fun game.

'Scuse me, got to text mates to see if they want a game.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:38, Reply)
Is there such a thing as an inauthentic sub-culture?

(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:33, Reply)
buggered if I know
The fact that they phrased it so implies that they think so, 've not thought about this kind of thing seriously in years.
(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:34, Reply)
It all sounds a bit intellectual to me.

(, Thu 10 Nov 2011, 22:38, Reply)

Hitler was brown shirts.
